(from Google)Beautiful and serene gardens easy to walk and lots of walking trails near by. Def recommend during a week day as it is def less busy.
March 4,2026. I’ll change my review when someone lets me know this absolute disgrace has been remedied. I took so many amazing pictures of Hollis Gardens in Lakeland, but here’s where the beauty stops. There are these HUGE fish living in a small fountain. This isn’t a pond. It’s a small fountain. Now one fish isn’t living- he’s clearly been dead for a while and is floating. In the fountain. Decomposing along with the LARGE live fish that have almost no room to swim around. Is anyone feeding them in the fountain? Because surely they would have removed the dead fish at feeding time. This turned my stomach. Somebody needs to fix the deplorable living condition of these fish. There are baby fish there as well. Google says koi need very large, specialized environments because they can grow 2–3 feet long. They live for decades while producing high levels of waste. Mature koi need 200–300 gallons per fish, usually in a pond or massive tank, or they will suffer from stunted growth. These fish definitely DO NOT have the room they need to flourish. One is already dead…disgraceful.
I was just passing through town and was looking for a place to walk and relax. This place was so lovely. I got there early in the morning and it was so peaceful. There's a small parking lot which filled up quickly because of a wedding arriving. I hope to come back someday when more flowers are blooming.
Wow what a beautiful place to visit. There was wedding picture being taken during our visit. We were respectful and made sure we stayed out of their way. Was a fellow photographer I know how frustrating it can be to try to get everyone posed and keep their attention span on point. Gardens and walkways were kept neat and tidy.
Hollis Garden is one of Lakeland’s most beautiful spots. The grounds are perfectly maintained, with colorful flowers, fountains, and peaceful walkways that make it great for photos or a quiet stroll. It’s free to enter, easy to explore, and sits right by Lake Mirror, which adds to the scenery. A relaxing, elegant garden that’s always worth a visit.
