I wanted to share the truly outstanding experience I had today with Conejo Valley Equine. I have used their services in the past, but my mare “Mama” has rarely ever been sick since I’ve owned her. Aside from a past running injury and a bout of strangles she picked up at Aliso Stables, she has been extremely healthy. This evening however, I needed a veterinarian, and the difference in care I received was remarkable. From the moment I called, the office answered right away and handled everything with complete professionalism. The veterinarian told me she would be here within 20 minutes, and she arrived exactly as promised. She also had another vet with her, which was reassuring and showed how thorough and prepared their team is. The exam and treatment were incredibly comprehensive. She wrapped my mare’s leg, applied poultice, gave two different antibiotic injections, administered Banamine for pain, cleaned out her hoof, and even ran a blood test on the spot. The materials at the top of the page are from that test. Something that truly stood out was her written instructions. No vet in Ventura County has ever left me clear, detailed written care instructions before. In all my past experiences, I would be lucky to get a brief note on a medication bottle. This vet went above and beyond, making sure I knew exactly what to do. Another major positive difference was their billing process. Most equine vets here——require payment immediately at the time of service. Conejo Valley Equine, however, told me not to worry. They already had my information on file and would simply email and bill my account once the charges were finalized. I think this approach makes a tremendous difference for responsible horse owners. Not everyone has emergency vet funds ready at all times, especially around the holidays, and the fear of immediate costs often delays people from calling a vet when they truly need one. Conejo Valley Equine’s trust and flexibility made the situation far less stressful and allowed me to focus entirely on my mare’s care. Overall, this experience was completely different in the best way possible. The professionalism, thoroughness, compassion, and trust shown today truly set Conejo Valley Equine apart from any other veterinary service I’ve used in the county. Now, we will simply wait for the bill and continue following their instructions while my mare heals. Thank you for your professionalism and courtesy when it comes to our beloved pets who are just as important as our family. Sincerely, Lisa Halstead

Dr Brown is the best! She has been doing an outstanding job maintaining my 18 yr dressage athlete in top form for the last 5 years. She had done his regular care, plus chiro, accupuncture, and injections when needed. She is so knowledgeable and discusses options and her recommendations so I feel very informed and part of the team. Plus, my horse LOVES her. and her pets, scratches and cookies.
