(from Google)Stopped in just before 9pm after getting into town on a Thursday evening. There were four of us in our group. We wanted to sit outside on their very large lower deck. We had to go upstairs to the hostess to come back downstairs to sit at a table. The waitress came over very quickly to check in and get our drink orders. They have a very large menu and drink selections. We ordered fried grouper sandwich, Cuban and two blackened chicken sandwiches. The grouper sandwich was a very large piece of grouper, not dry but would have liked it seasoned a little better. The Cuban looked good but was just okay. The two blackened chicken sandwiches were outstanding. The sides were got were fries and the slaw. The fries were top notch. The slaw was too wet and not really eatable. The hours are short I feel, closing at 10pm each night. It seems 11pm would make sense on Friday and Saturday but they know their business I guess. I was also told by a local, the previous business had live music. I did not see that they had this. Overall food, drinks, service and atmosphere would make me highly recommend and go again.
We had the family down on vacation while visiting our other child and decided to stop by Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille. It was a great choice. I ordered the Sanibel Cheesesteak and Doc’s Beach Bread, and both were excellent. The cheesesteak was full of flavor, and the Beach Bread lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly, and it was a perfect place to enjoy a meal with family while making vacation memories. We’re glad we stopped in and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
A wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day lunch! A fun beach atmosphere with live music. The food was delicious! It was Mother’s Day so it was packed, but a good time was had by all! Don’t forget to check out the beautiful salt water aquarium inside.
The vibe & the atmosphere alone sold it for me! Absolutely loved the service, the atmosphere, the music, the food, the time spent there, and the VIEW! Oh my! It’s such a chill, but upbeat experience! Live music, good drinks, great food, amazing customer service & support, the wait time wasn’t no where near as long as we’d fear it would’ve been, very busy place & area so if you’re wanting more quite/secluded-like family time/not a lot of wait time + people—definitely would recommend choosing elsewhere than here but it’s worth it really, the view alone is breathtaking & believe it or not— it’s affordable! Didn’t even spend over $80 & I got 4 drinks total— HIGHLY recommend the Banana one! As pictured below but cannot remember the full name of it. Anyways, I got 2 dishes & 1 regular beverage drink also & didn’t go over 80$. I did once I tipped, but it’s amazing! Highly recommend it being a stop in & check it out kinda place if you’re in the area!
I did a lot of research on restaurants before visiting the area on a day-trip to the beach, as I have to eat gluten free and wanted good seafood. I LOVE that there is an ENTIRE gluten free menu here! We arrived roughly at 4:30pm on the Saturday before Easter and luckily scored a table outside, as it was already very busy for dinner and an outdoor table seemed to be the popular choice. We loved the vibe outside, as the restaurant sits on the water, and there’s a full bar outdoors. We ordered the Fig & Prosciutto flatbread as gluten free for a $2 up charge. It was good, but not as unique in flavor as I had hoped. Had a very crunchy texture. I’d give it a 4/5. My boyfriend had the buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and enjoyed. This is not gluten free, so I didn’t taste. I ordered the Sautéed Grouper off the gluten free menu as my meal. This was perfection. Everything was perfect. The coconut sauce made the entire dish. 5/5 would order again. My boyfriend ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon, which happens to be listed as a gluten free item, so I was able to taste. So good! The mango chipotle glaze on top of the salmon was delicious, and so were the au gratin potatoes. 5/5 would order this. I ordered the Doc’s Cure cocktail. I love rum. Honestly, this drink was very meh. Tasted like soap towards the last half. Wouldn’t order again. 2/5 All in all, a great experience, and would definitely return.
