(from Google)Beautiful park with all the basics. There are no playgrounds or jungle gyms or basketball. The park itself is great for biking, walking, having a picnic/barbecue, and (possibly) fishing though I haven't tried it myself! There are plenty of grill and picnic tables in the area. Plenty of parking spaces at the cheap price of 2 dollars a day. I recommend the park for long walks or biking. There is a very nice boardwalk that goes by the waterway with fishing areas and places to sit as well.
This is a great place to get out into nature. The access was very easy. Parking was free and plentiful on February 20, 2026. Porta potties available and cleaner than most. We saw many alligators, waterbirds (anhingas and white egrets and orhers) and turtles. Hyw noise was a bit of a downer. Trout Creek is beautiful, tropical and partly shaded. Also went a little on the wider river which was much wider and easy paddling. But if you're afraid of alligators I would stay away.
What a nice and well kept park, with access to many different ways to hike or find some local scenery. I walked all the parks nature trails and areas finding them peaceful and ready for bikers to enjoy and after that I hopped on the flatwood 7 mile trail that this park has access to, and what a adventure. I had a wonderful stroll, got to see hillsborough river like I never have, and find new places to enjoy while there. Only 2 dollars for parking, has bathrooms and areas to picnic that are very shady and scenic. Defineltly a gem to explore spent 6 hours here.
Beautiful place to walk, fish, bike, boat, or just be outdoors.
Love this place. So many trails, with Hillsborough river and a bunch of ponds. Been going here for years, and still new things to explore.
