I was referred to Dr. Silverman by the hospital veterinarian because my dog had a complex break, and Dr. Silverman is the only board-certified specialist in El Paso and New Mexico. Like many people, I always read reviews before choosing a business especially when something as important as my pet’s life is on the line. When I looked up Dr. Silverman, I saw mixed reviews. They weren’t the best, but they also weren’t the worst. I felt that if he were truly as bad as some reviews suggested, there would be far more negative feedback than there actually was. I was nervous, but I decided to trust my gut. From the moment I made the appointment through checking on my dog after surgery, everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful. My consultation with Dr. Silverman was great he made me feel important, never rushed, and spent about an hour going over everything in detail. He explained his recommendations, discussed all our options, answered every question we had, and was very confident in what he was doing. I never had a bad feeling about him or the surgery; I genuinely felt at ease. He also provided clear pricing information, showing us both the lower and higher ends of the cost depending on certain decisions, which I really appreciated. During and after the surgery, both Dr. Silverman and Desiree called to keep me updated on how my sweet boy was doing. The day after surgery, I received another follow-up call with an update. Everyone I’ve met there has been nothing but kind and supportive. The staff truly seems happy, and I believe that says a lot about Dr. Silverman and how he treats his team. Desiree and Morgan at the front desk are always patient, willing to help, and happy to answer any questions. I am very grateful that I chose Dr. Silverman and his staff to care for my sweet boy and that I didn’t let a few negative reviews sway me. I hope this review helps others who may be in the same position I was. My dogs are my life, and I expect nothing but the best for them and that’s exactly what I feel we received here. 🐶💙

Since August we had been living essentially a nightmare. What seemed like over night our otherwise healthy baby boy Maverick had a huge cancerous mass on his right back hip come up out of knowwhere. We were referred to Dr Silverman because he needed to have a full leg amputation/partial hip removal. It was such a long and trying process but I am so thankful we had the kindness of Dr Silverman and his staff during all of this. Every appointment they were extremely thorough and understanding, even when I was overwhelmed and crying in there room. Not once did I feel like they didn’t care. Dr Silverman is the reason my boy is alive and gets to live his fullest 3 legged potential. And I cannot thank all of them enough

Negative. desiree called the afternoon the day before my appointment to confirm I told her to reschedule because I can't be at 2 places at the same time. She said the next appointment would be closer to the end of the month. I said that's far, but I can't be at 2 places at once. She left a message the next day, about 4/5 hours after the previous appointment time, saying that they were expecting me. I called back, telling her that I just talked to them yesterday to reschedule, and I specifically said I can't be at 2 places at the same time. She started raising her voice and kept repeating that I missed the appointment and if I still wanted to be seen I would have to pay an additional deposit. I asked to speak with a supervisor/manager/veterinarian, and she refused, until I asked her does it take me to sue you all to get my money back if you're not going to reschedule. Then she put me on hold for an extended period, then someone else got on the phone and asked me who I was and what I wanted. I explained the situation again, and at that point very upset. I asked to speak with a supervisor/doctor -anyone with better customer service to explain my situation. She finally rescheduled for the date I was offered the day before, never received an apology for their misunderstanding. I called back to reschedule because I have to attend a funeral on the reschedule date later in the month. Then later received a call from Dr. Mclean yelling at me never hearing my side of what happened, just accusing ME of being unprofessional. What a joke - this office is apparently in some distress. Its unfortunate my beautiful chocolate labrador has to suffer and delay in care.

Dr Silverman and his staff are amazing! Brought my dog Rocky for a Salivary Mucocele procedure, Dr Silverman is the ONLY board certified pet surgeon in the entire city and he had so much confidence and the way he spoke to me about Rocky was no different than talking to a human surgeon, I’m glad I came here. Thank you again Dr! Your staff is amazing as well!

Our little Schnauhuahua, Paddy, was in dire straights when we were directed to Dr, Silverman by our local veterinarian, After a consultation, he said he could do the urehtrostomy, rerouting our dog's urethra and saving his life. The surgery went well, his care was very good, and the staff was excellent. Now, eight months later, he is as happy and vigorous as he ever was. Our deep gratitude goes out to Dr. Silverman and his able assistants.
