Super fun and beautiful hike! The first bit is quite steep, but it's not quite as steep for the second half of the way up to the peak. Duke the dog led us up the trail, periodically pausing at T's in the trail to make sure we went the right way haha.

We had a great experience hiking this trail. A bit intense, but worth it. Our journey was guided by Duke the spirit dog, who led us all the way up to the peak!

The first little bit was a nice moderatey steep hike up the boulders on the riverbed. Once it gets to a nice lookout spot at the mouth of the canyon, I recommend stopping there. After that point the trail gets hard to follow. When we saw how bad it was we decided to go to the nearest peak up the canyon wall, but then there wasn't a good way down and we spent a few hours lost in the dark before finding the trail.

Before you hike find this dog first. If you park by the roadside, a dog will come to greet you. If you follow the dog, it will lead you to a hiking trail. The dog is very friendly and guides you well throughout the hike. However, the trail is quite rough, so the hike can be challenging.

Moderate to Advanced. Pretty steep hike that has loose dirt or sliding rocks. Trail can be difficult to follow, but the stream bed made the hike a lot easier during the dry season. Like many on here, saw this good boy. The dog came up to us pretty far up the hike and was incredibly well behaved. We were delighted to actually see him like the other reviews going back several months
