I feel genuinely compelled to write this review because this experience stayed with me. My dogs are my everything — especially Lily, who has always been extremely dramatic when it comes to nail trims. Like, Olympic-level anxiety. I was always told keeping nails short is important for a dog’s comfort, so thinking I was being a good pup mom, I convinced myself the benefits outweighed her temporary panic attacks. Still… it never fully sat right with my heart. The moment I walked into Mel’s spa, I felt a calm I don’t usually feel in grooming situations. The space was spotless, peaceful, and welcoming — and seeing happy, relaxed pups just casually living their best lives inside instantly put me at ease. Right then and there, I knew in my soul my baby would be okay. A few minutes later, I came back fully prepared to be tackled at the door by a frantic dog charging at me like a tiny linebacker — nails half done, eyes bulging, trauma unlocked. Because… that’s usually how this goes. Instead? I was absolutely FLOORED. Lily was calm. Happy. Chill. Like she’d just come back from a spa retreat instead of a nail trim. I honestly had to check that this was, in fact, my dog. And then — as if that miracle wasn’t enough — Mel told me Lily only needed three nails trimmed. Something I never would’ve known if she hadn’t been honest. She then told me she wasn’t charging me at all and refused to take anything, even after I insisted and told her her care for my dog was priceless. That level of integrity, compassion, and genuine love for animals is rare — and it speaks volumes about who Mel is and how she runs her business. So whether you’re a local, just passing through, or here on vacation like I was — from one dog lover to another — your fur babies are in truly exceptional hands here. I only wish I lived closer so I could keep coming back and supporting this business regularly. I can’t say enough good things about Mel’s Pet Spa! Not only are their prices reasonable, but you can truly tell how much they care about the dogs. Our 4 year old goldendoodle usually gets nervous at the groomer, but he was calm, happy, and came out looking amazing. They take their time, pay attention to details, and treat every dog as if it were their own. My husband and I recently moved here from NY and it’s such a relief to find a groomer where we know our dog is in good hands. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality grooming with a team that genuinely loves what they do.

Mel and turbo always do an excellent job grooming our 100lb golden. She does exactly what we talk about doing with his coat, and she always gets him in within a few days, if not that same day. The place is always clean and the dogs always seem happy to see her. My dog would have to be dragged into the groomers after the first visit, but he just walks right in to Mel’s. She always points out things she notices about lumps, or the state of his ears, anything that might be problematic she remembers to tell me. The pricing is also very reasonable and they are the nicest people you’ll meet. Real dog people. Thanks Mel! Thanks Turbo! Y'all are the best!

We took our 11 month old puppy, Gus, here and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The owners were incredibly patient and attentive, making sure Gus felt comfortable the entire time. They followed our requests perfectly, leaving him looking and feeling his best. The care and attention to detail truly set this place apart. By the end of his visit, Gus was so happy and relaxed that he didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back!

We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Mel’s. We have a mat-prone Maltese and were looking for a next-day grooming appointment. Mel graciously accommodated us with an appointment and provided all the information we needed upfront. When we picked up Peaches, we were blown away! They did a fantastic job on her grooming, but what stood out even more was the kindness and care they showed. They genuinely value their customers, both human and canine, and you can feel that from the moment you walk in. On top of the excellent customer service, the prices are very reasonable. Highly, highly recommended!
