El Escondido Studios and Gardens

The rooms are great, the hosts are pleasant and accommodating. The only downside is a lack of Wi-Fi and very poor cell phone service. Other than that we had a pleasant stay and the sounds of the jungle at night made our sleep memorable!

I’m extremely happy I found this place. The landscape was absolutely breathtaking—like something out of a fantasy. Nike is an exceptional host: kind, gentle, and incredibly attentive. He also has a dog named Pedro, which was extremely friendly and loving as well . As a woman traveling alone, I felt completely safe and at ease thanks to his warm welcome and genuine care. What I loved most about the property were the stunning gardens and the private hiking trail—perfect for someone like me who loves the outdoors. This place truly feels like nature’s playground. There are so many birds (a dream for birdwatchers like me!), and you’re surrounded by frogs, wildlife, and the soothing sounds of the forest. At night, it felt absolutely magical. The pool was sparkling clean, and every detail on the property felt thoughtfully cared for. I’m extremely grateful for Nike’s hospitality and definitely recommend this peaceful retreat—especially to any woman traveling alone. Thank you so much Nike for everything you really helped heal my soul.

Wow we loved our time here. Hate to leave. The room was perfect. The view gorgeous. The host very accommodating. The location is near EVERYTHING! The bed was super comfortable. Rooms crazy clean. I can’t say enough good things about this vacation and this place! Highly recommend!

This was our second visit to the new Studios and Gardens, but our third to El Escondido in total, and had Maria not happened, it would have been our fourth. Simply put, we love it here. The views are breathtaking, and the gardens are every bit a labour of love. Set meticulously within those gardens is a stunningly beautiful pool area, it too with an exceptional view. Nike and Scott are wonderful hosts, with a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. The studios are well equipped for self catering, with an outdoor kitchen in each. We can't imagine not going back again and again.

This is one of those places that will stick with you forever. Nike (the host) was A+ the entire time. He always met us with a smile and always took time to answer questions about good places to visit. The rooms were spotless, well done and had everything you need to enjoy your stay. The views from this place are some of the best views I’ve ever seen. Rolling mountains for miles with views of San Juan and the ocean. The views are stunning daytime and night and you can also see them from the pool. We will definitely be coming back.
