Weird vibes in this place. Came in on the phone and had an associate follow me around the entire damn time & tried to small talk me to death (engaged to show him I’m a educated black man) I guess I didn’t fit the description of the skin color that shops there. Nonetheless not all black people that come in have intentions of stealing. He insisted on taking my items to the desk in which I already knew he thought I had intent of stealing them I guess. Train your staff better to make people feel welcomed to shop & not harassed and uncomfortable. Immediately made my purchase (which I didn’t even want to buy anything from the store at that point) and got the heck out of there. If y'all are afraid of theft maybe you shouldn’t leave the damn door wide open the entire time?? Just a suggestion. If you’re thinking about coming here save your gas and your money, not worth the harassment. Especially if you’re a minority. Yall are pathetic.

I’ve always had great experiences in store. I went to the south end farmers market last February 2025 (the weekend before my dogs 10th birthday), and the person working the stand was very rude. They did not care at all/didn’t say anything to me when I told them it was my dogs 10th birthday when I bought my treats. I thought that was odd for a local pet shop.

My boyfriend and I are absolutely furious and heartbroken after our experience with this store. We purchased birthday-flavored Pupsicle balls to celebrate our dog’s birthday. We have bought this exact brand before (including the peanut butter flavor we currently have at home), and our dog has never had any issues — she loves them. This time, however, the birthday-flavored version we bought here made her severely ill. Within 24-hours — and this is especially alarming because she is an older dog — she became violently ill. We keep her on a very strict feeding schedule and diet and do not give her random treats or different foods, specifically to avoid issues like this. Despite that, she was throwing up, refusing to eat, unable to poop, and crying out in pain whenever we tried to pick her up. She couldn’t even go up or down the stairs. Because our focus was on keeping our dog alive and recovering, we didn’t return the Pupsicles until 12/27/25. When we did, the sales associate told us we couldn’t return them because: 1. The bag had been opened (no kidding — it made our dog sick), and 2. We were supposedly outside of a 15-day return policy. This was especially infuriating because my boyfriend had checked their return policy online, which clearly stated a 30-day return policy. We pulled it up in the store and showed it to the associate. Instead of taking responsibility, she gave a completely insincere apology, pulled out a policy handbook, and pointed to a different 15-day policy — essentially saying, “Too bad.” We explained, repeatedly, that the product they sold us put our dog in the emergency room. The response? Another hollow apology and “there’s nothing I can do.” I even asked what would happen if the product they sold had killed our dog and we had come in asking for a refund. Her answer? They still wouldn’t do anything. Let that sink in. There is apparently no accountability, no compassion, and no exception process — even when an animal’s health is at stake. I cannot comprehend how a business that claims to care about pets operates this way. This experience has been beyond infuriating and deeply upsetting. We love supporting local businesses, but this store has made it impossible to do so again. We will never shop here in the future, and I strongly urge other pet owners to think twice before trusting this store with their animals’ well-being.

Love taking my baby here. This place had a lil ‘ bit of everything. Last visit we got treats, a food topper, this adorable Yak toy (who we need Ragnar 😂) and a bandana. They were celebrating 2 years when we were there so Mello got a special treat! They have a points/rewards system. They make food there too! Mello was in sensory overload from all the goodies in there. Literally checked out every type of treat they have.

Very helpful staff at PetWants. I needed some Fresh Food topper because my dog wasn't eating with the helpful recommendation my dog is back eating. Plenty of exotic freeze dried and chew treats for dogs of all sizes. Prices were reasonable I would definitely would recommend Pet Wants.
