(from Google)Fun place to eat a lunch and watch the squirrels play and people walking. Very relaxing. It was a rainy day so we just ate in the car but enjoyed our time there.
I think that if you go when it is not sunny you will be okay. We were there in the sun and there really wasn't shade for the play area. Bonus is there are bathrooms and shaded picnic areas. Parking is on the paved road, but if busy you might be walking to get to the play area.
Great little park in a very quiet part of Lawrence . Also a great place for kids. Walking trails to Baker Wetlands. (My favorite outdoor place in Douglas County.)
Nice park but fyi- the two playgrounds are pretty spread out from each other. Nice cushy ground on the swing set with 4 big kid swings and 2 baby swings. A few shaded benches nearby and two covered areas with 9 total picnic tables.
It's a more or less public park, available during off school hours. The equipment is pretty new and well kept, as well it looks to promote imaginative play. Lots of swings, slides and stuff to climb on. Not generally busy. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned.
