El Fogón Del Rey

Ordered from El Fogón Del Rey once to try a range of Puerto Rican classics—Chuleta Kan Kan, Carne Frita, Chicharrones de Pollo, and Queso Frito. Everything arrived in about 30 to 40 minutes and was solid, though nothing really stood out enough to make me order again. The food was well-prepared and hit the traditional flavors you'd expect, but it didn't leave much of an impression beyond that first meal.

The restaurant struggles with consistency; while the food can be excellent at times, it's not always consistent. The establishment has plenty of tables available. Service could use some refinement to enhance the overall experience. Prices are competitive, which is a plus. Parking options are limited in front of the restaurant. They do accept credit cards for payment.

Well, I must say, the staff is very friendly, a high plus having valet parking, specifically and especially given the fact that there's barely a place where you can park your car. The food is awesome, the stewed beans were very good, just a little bit salty, but good. Bathroom, small, but it'll do the work, Lol. We asked for the chicken breast rolled stuffed with sweet plantain, topped with mushroom sauce.

My experience last Sunday was unpleasant. I order a “ mamposteao rice” with “pastelon de amarillos” and it was food that which taste was not only for a re-heated food from days cooked it was also with a taste to rotten food and rotten odor. It was so so unpleasant that I almost barf !!! When I told the waitress ( which was also the only one working for a Sunday shift) she immediately told me “ I will not charge for it” more than a concern from her I notice like if she already knows food was not fresh and it was from days over heated. As we say in Spanish “ No Vuelvo” !!!

Food was delicious, really, really delicious. The service was excellent. Our server Shakira was outstanding. We were a large party, celebrating a birthday and she took really good care of us. Kudos!
