We hiked this 4-mile trail in a little over 2 1/2 hours. The trail has an approximate 1,000 ft elevation climb, which is slightly challenging. The trail is easy to follow but does get steep over some sections. There are benches at the top with great views of El Paso on both sides of the mountain. Suggest wearing good boots with ankle support. Make sure you have plenty of water.

I will say that it was moderate and as I was hiking and thinking it wouldn't be suitable for kiddos a dad came along with two daughters around the age of 8-12! I didn't go all the way up the North peak but was tempted... I think it cooler months it would be better. I also went from 11am-3pm though so maybe going in the earlier morning I would have made it all the way up. Last night it rained so it was 95 out, but there was a nice cool breeze. I brought a 2L water bag and still ran out of water - I only had about 10 minutes left and I'm glad I had another cold liter in the car. Bring more water than you think you'll need! Overall a great hike, with plenty of benches and also natural seats (huge boulders). There's an option to go around Agave Loop trail on the way back down to the trailhead/parking and it was very nice to go that way since it's not as steep and the path is more dirt than the big rocks. Would recommend that for sure. I spent 4 hours total but I took it easy and enjoyed the nature and using my Merlin Bird App (super fun!) during some stops. On a last note, I passed a 70-80 year old with using an oxygen tube and medium size backpack! If he can do it, you can 💪 Definitely look at the weather ahead of time though.

Awesome Awesome trail! I recommend if you don't want to walk for 25 minutes on big rocks then go right and take a left at the beginning of the hike. You're ankles will thank you. Even with high hiking boots it was hard to walk on those big rocks

Have hiked this beautiful trail twice . You can access the trail either from the west or east side of the park. It is steady but not too difficult climb. There are very good views along the way and also some very interesting rock formations.
