(from Google)I rode my bike along this trail. There are many small paths, animals, and interesting details. The locals are friendly, walking with their families and dogs. I really enjoyed this clean trail, thank you to the park staff.
Good place for a quiet nature walk, horse riding and cycling is also possible. Several different trails, as it is the Spring Conroe area the trails are flat so easy walk
Really nice little park to take our dogs to. A couple of little ponds and lots of see. Do keep an eye out for snakes, especially near the water. Our dogs flushed out a good sized water moccasin near one of the ponds.
Not much of a "forest". More like an area where the trees haven't been cut down (yet) on the side of a highway. There are 2 parts, one on each side of said highway: Recreational area and the Nature trails area. The rec area is popular (read crowded). The nature trails area is smaller but quiet. Not a hiking area; just a nature walk with lots of educational placards and sitting/resting areas.
If you're looking for some forest trails in the city, this is it. If you're looking for a real park experience go the extra 30 miles to Huntsville. I would definitely visit here if I lived close by to go for a run or walk a dog. The trails close to the parking lot have lots of doggie poo bags at the posts. So theres a lot of poo, but if you walk in further, it turns into a real trail experience where you don't see the neighboring apartments or hear the cars. We walked a mile in and we're still only about 1/3 of the park, so it has potential for several miles of running or hiking.
