(from Google)Shonda was so amazing as a host here! She was very attentive and made sure we got all of our food and drinks out in a timely manner. Speaking of drinks, they were all delicious. I ordered and Cuban espresso, iced coffee and a sangria - all of which were perfect! The oxtails were falling off the bones and all the food was delicious!
Love the pictures, decorations, and music. The waiter had a bit of an attitude because we questioned the absolute need to scan qr code to order and pay. Thereason, I was accompanied by senior citizens who haven't used it and just as I thought u tend to loose that personal touch. Waiter went as far as asking us if we "actually wanted to be here because of the "faces we made... we didn't have to" i just smiled and disregarded him. Once he sat us he didn't come to check on us not once. I wish I was exaggerating but nada... not even for payment or to see if we knew how to make the payment since it had to be done with the scan... anyways. The food.... sorry.. but ropa viewable definitely had salt and tomato taste... nothing else... the pan bistec... lady said the meat was dry (she didn't hear the previous comment) the male rhat was with us said his plate was good but nothing to boast about, I've eaten better Cuban in Georgia. $7 for 1 empanada? I'm not going to hate on them these were great!!!
Hard finding great Cubans, but that's not the only thing great, the cafe con leche, deviled crab, empanada, ceviche and chicharrón!! Everything was extremely delicious and I don't rave much about places to and their food but this place was on point!! Atmosphere is so nice and inviting also and the staff are amazing and friendly!
Just Incredible. Jesus the owner was a pure delight to talk with about Cuban history, Ybor city and most importantly his ancestral knowledge. I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy his knowledge and life's experiences but this is truly a conversation I will take with gratitude and love. Now onto the Cuban Sandwich. I have tried many in the Tampa area, and normally they just get better and better but this here Cuban Sandwhich was the Mona Lisa of them all. Pure mouth watering goodness for every bite, the softness of the fresh baked and delivered daily bread, to the fresh roasted pork to the ham, cheese and pickles. I do believe that God willed me here so that I have finally ended my search for the ultimate goodness of this historical sandwhich. What I truly found most interesting is in my conversations with Jesus, the original Cuban Sandwiches were not pressed, but just made with that special bread. I was informed that without the pressing the flavors would be more abundant and the different nuances of all the flavors come alive. Jesus was absolutely correct, without that cruncy of a flat pressed sandwhich, this was easier to absorb and taste everything. Just Incredible. I also had a Cuban coffee and the Gauva and cheese empanada. Coffee was excellent and made with just the right amount of milk and sugar. The empanada was fluffy yet crispy. It had a perfect mixture of guava and cheese and came with a dipping sauce that I cant pinpoint, but tasted excellent together. I wish as always I had more time to enjoy the photos and brilliant colors of the interior but I can only imagine sitting here for dinner and truly enjoying fantastic food listening to music. Thank you Jesus for taking the time to tell me some fascinating history of Cuba and sharing about your family as well. God bless you!
The food is delicious. This is the best Cuban sandwich I have had ever. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. I ordered food to go, and the staff didn't skip a beat. They had soulful Christmas music playing. Love it the menu has some interesting things that I want to try. My only knock is that it is easy to pass even with GPS. I highly recommend this place and don't do what I did. Spen more than a half an hour there you won't regret it. The owner is awesome and one to get to know.
