(from Google)After relocating my bunsons Buddy and Baby to California, this is the first place that I found that accepted bunnies. The staff is great, and so is the hospitality. I really appreciated the card the staff sent to me when Baby died in October 2024. It’s been challenging to return to the office since Baby died, but I am grateful for the care that my boys received here.
Everyone here, from the providers to the whole care team has been awesome & attentive not only to me as a dog mom, but to my dog Tofu as well. We both go to his appointments confidently knowing he’s getting the best care!
Abel has been a beacon for our family in a sea of vet hospitals that just don’t check all the boxes for us. We’re treated with warmth, consideration, kindness and, at times, humor. We’ve shared some intense experiences with our animals the last year and they’ve been nothing less than stellar. Thank you ♥️
Abel Pet Clinic is conveniently located off Laguna Boulevard in the Laguna West area near interstate 5. Parking is pretty easy to find in the strip shopping center they're located in. It's never fun to have to take your beloved animals to the vet when they're under the weather, but they did a wonderful job. Appointments can be made online or over the phone. Like most places, they charge a new patient deposit of $50 to hold your appointment and it's credited towards your first bill. We saw Dr. O'Neil and she did a great job explaining things in a timely fashion and helping us nurse our kitty Mario back to health after he came down with flea dermatitis after our over the counter flea application stopped working. It led to some pesky hot spots that were likely infected. She recommended antibiotics, a steroid, a topical mousse, and a prescription only flea treatment, Revolution Plus. The antibiotics could be via injection or oral, and we opted for the shot to get it over with since we had to administer the steroid orally. Her treatment plan wasn't overly aggressive and we found it to be fair and reasonable. The prescription only flea treatment works worlds better than the FrontLine ever did and it's not terribly expensive, particularly if you purchase the six month treatment box. They were kind enough to call us the following day to check in to see how he we responding to treatment which meant a lot. All of the staff including the front desk and assistant were very empathetic, kind, pleasant, and professional. Thankfully our boy has responded very well to treatment thus far and we won't hesitate to take him or his brother or sister in should we need to.
I absolutely love this place! After first moving to Elk Grove, we tried Banfield for quick care and were told our dog had issues with aggression. We switched to Abel Pet Clinic and from the moment they started, they never claim to have had any issues with aggression. The care and attention that they provide to our animals are second to none. Their no-stress methods have worked to make my extremely anxious doggo more comfortable. Even with his risk of seizures now, the staff accommodates us as best they can to help provide the best care we can give him. It always feels like the staff treat all animals as though they were their own.
