Chewy Vet Care Louisville

If I could give this vet office zero stars, I would I scheduled this appointment for one simple reason: to refill a medication that had been successfully prescribed by my previous veterinarian just two years ago. I made that clear from the start. Instead of listening to my concerns or considering my dogs' proven treatment history, the veterinarian immediately dismissed the medication, claiming it was something more commonly used 10+ years ago and suggesting it could cause problems. Despite explaining that the medication had worked reliably for my dogs and had been prescribed recently, she refused to prescribe it. Instead, I was told to buy two over-the-counter probiotics. Two weeks later, those products have done absolutely nothing. My dogs still have loose stools, and the veterinarian continues to refuse the medication that has consistently resolved the issue in the past. The prices at this clinic are just as shocking as the service. I was quoted over $1,143 for a routine spay. My regular veterinarian in Golden charges less than half that amount, and Humane Colorado performs the same procedure for around $240. Fecal testing is $125, and heartworm testing is $80—both significantly higher than what most veterinary clinics charge. What frustrated me most was the complete lack of willingness to listen. I wasn't asking for a new or experimental treatment—I was asking for a medication with a documented history of working for my dogs. Instead, I paid premium prices only to receive recommendations that failed and a veterinarian who seemed more interested in dismissing my concerns than addressing my dogs' actual needs. Between the excessive pricing, ineffective recommendations, and refusal to consider a successful treatment history, this was one of the most disappointing veterinary experiences I've had. Colorado has countless veterinary clinics to choose from. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I love this place and am so glad they opened. We brought one of our dogs in for a check up, and had such a great experience with Dr.DuCray and Kalie, as well as Oscar and Megan! Dr.DuCray has the calm like demeanor or Dr.Jane Goodall, our pup was so relaxed and calm with her and Kalie I was surprised. He’s usually pretty stressed at the vet, but not here! The facility is new and wonderful and I feel like they really try to be informative, helpful and compassionate towards both humans and pets. I will definitely be bringing the rest of our dogs and kitty here.

This place was excellent!!! most vets are ridiculously priced and this place was so reasonable and we made an appointment and was able to get in the next hour. The staff was also so friendly we will definitely use this place in the future!!
