Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Clinton Hill

We used Pure Paws to help us prepare passports for our cat and dog for an international move to France, and they were absolutely incredible. Super transparent about the process and fees, which were definitely competitive, and willing to go the extra mile. Our dog can be reactive at the vet with new devices she's not familiar with, and they were so nice and gentle, offering her lots of treats to get her comfortable. We 10 out of 10 recommend them.

I've been using Pure Paws for over 15 years to care for my med/large dogs and had mostly good experiences so far. Scheduling is easy, staff provides follow up calls to check on their patients, DVMs are unhurried and thorough during visits. We particularly liked Charles, Leah Reilly, and in the most recent visit Foltin. The front staff is efficient and latest group of vet techs have been pretty gentle and attentive. My only complaint from 1-2 years ago is that I cannot be with my dog getting while getting care. My senior rescue who was very sweet but anxious and fearful from her past experiences with prior owners had her BP taken. Her BP was concerningly elevated. The vet tech recommended I come back to retake it but that solution didn't make sense to me. My dog was exhibiting anxiety when she was dragged to the back (whale-eyed, claws dug in, trying to pancake). They wouldn't allow me to be present to calm or distract her for her BP reading. I thought that interaction could have been managed differently. That was an isolated incident but I hope there can be more flexibility in the future for fearful, older dogs.

I brought my cat in with an urgent issue, his toenail had split down the nail bed and he was bleeding, and I was really worried. I hadn’t found a vet in the city yet and was especially nervous going in, but Dr. Burg was able to see us quickly and was calm, reassuring, and so gentle with him. She explained what was happening and that he would need a procedure with sedation, which would normally be very stressful, but she made the entire experience feel manageable and routine. She gave us thorough instructions on post-procedure care and our cat healed perfectly, and I’m incredibly grateful for her care. I’ll definitely be taking all my pets to Dr. Burg going forward, I couldn’t recommend her more.

I have two dogs under 10lbs and have seen a slew of different DVMs here at pure paws since 2020 as vets have come and go. Five years later, I feel obligated to leave a review for Dr. Torre Muhlbach. You can tell she genuinely loves her job in the way she goes above and beyond for her patients and their humans. She’s fear free certified (not a req @ pure paws but always a plus) and doesn’t rush to exam. She prioritizes getting to know the dog by sitting on the floor to get at their level, give treats, ask about temperament, etc. This was my second dental cleaning at pure paws, first time with Dr. Muhlbach and I refuse to let anyone else near my pets. Dr. Muhlbach is extremely thoughtful, kind, thorough and patient. Out of all the DVMs we’ve seen throughout the years, (bond vet, heart of Brooklyn, blue pearl), her caliber of professionalism and care don’t even compare. Her communication is on point and I wish she would open a veterinary school to teach other vets! All animals and their owners deserve this type of treatment and veterinary experience. Thank you Dr. Muhlbach; pure paws is lucky to have you on their team.

Dr. Berg and the team at Pure Paws in Clinton Hill are terrific! My two dogs actually enjoy being at their office and are always treated well. I have been a client of Pure Paws since 2011.
