Choice Pet - Westport

The nice gentleman at the counter took so much time to explain all the kibble options for our pet. Ended up buying a big bag of kibble.

Friendly staff. Lots of items to choose from. Answered any question I had and if they didn’t have an answer looked it up for me. And got water for my dog when I asked if they had any.

I have always enjoyed getting my pet food and other supplies from the varying Choice Pet stores in Fairfield county; as chance would have it I had to pick something up for my Dog and found myself in Westport CT as I usually frequent the nice folks at the Greenwich CT store. Well I walked into this one and the young woman who works there, "Tey" the other worker called her, was obviously in a terrible mood and did not like my ethnicity (older white guy from Fairfield county CT). I don't think I have ever been approached so rudely by anyone, let alone a cashier clerk. It was obvious she was in a bad mood and was resenting having to wait on me. She rudely barked an order at me to move my merchandise to the other register. I did so, then she rudely asked me for my phone # on the account (I mean really rude) and when I told her to go by my last name you would have thought I just asked her to go outside and wash my BMW with a toothbrush. After this scene I asked for someone else to wait on me and this young woman started raising her voice about how she "hates working on white people." This was pretty bad.......the other worker did not know what to do and nervously rang me up. Upon departing I mentioned I was going to report this incident somewhere (will probably call the corporate office as well) and I said she should be fired. She replied that she hopes she does get fired.........oh well! So if the management at the Westport Choice Pet is reading this you have an pretty nasty problem here and should deal with it properly. I am by nature a calm person and other people would not take these racial slurs and statements as lightly as I did.

We get our dry dog food and they pricematch others are are cheaper than amazon for what we need bag for bag so I shop local and support the owner who is always in a store and always helpful. Well trained staff as well that knows their product.

Good selection and lots of inventory for pet food.
