(from Google)After noticing a concerning lump on my 11-year-old Frenchbulldog, I took him to the Condado veterinarian. after getting an immediate same-day appointment, , I was kindly greeted by Elena, The Assistant veterinarian who is super welcoming, very thorough and quick to bring in the veterinarian. Dr. F came into a room introducing herself so kindly to me, putting both my dog and myself at ease during a stressing situation. After very quickly listening to the symptoms and looking at what I was concerned about. Dr. F put my mind at ease by telling me my dog was perfectly fine and it’s a very common thing with a dog that age and her honesty was truly unlike anything I’ve ever experienced with any veterinarian I’ve ever met. She was quick in telling me exactly what the diagnosis was and that I did not need to worry. I cannot express enough how much I appreciated this honesty and professionalism. I have been going to this vet for 10 years. It is a great practice, but I will say that both Elena and Dr. F were the most wonderful people I’ve dealt with at that establishment highly recommend 10 stars if possible.
The hospital is awesome and the staff are knowledgeable and efficient. They took excellent care of my spicy lil baby! The doctor gave me a good plan for how to help my cat lose some weight. Both Liz and Dr. Raldris paid good attention to Carola (my cat) and handled her with gentle strength. I'm super happy I lucked into choosing them as my vet!
I am leaving a review specifically for the new vet at this clinic, named SOFIA RALDIRIS ROMAGUERA (DMV), who I am convinced almost killed my Pomeranian by prescribing a negligently high amount of sedating medication which was 13-17 times more the correct medication (based on later corrected dosage from our regular vet at this practice. See photos attached). Vet Raldiris Romaguera was unable to analyze my dog’s health for correct prescription, ignoring her well-documented heart condition, tiny weight of 5 lbs, and very advanced age of 16 years old. She was negligent which resulted in a very traumatic experience where my dog was becoming comatose (only after HALF prescribed dose) and I am sure would have died in her sleep had I give her the FULL dose prescribed or if I didn’t intervene when I noticed her not breathing. Full experience is below: My dog has been a patient at this hospital without issues for 3-4 years, but the last time we got this new vet. She prescribed my dog 130 to 170 mg of Gabapentin split in two doses for air travel anxiety. At home, to test the meds before the flight, I gave my dog only one dose of the lowest recommend amount (65 mg) and my dog fell into deep deep sleep. Eventually I noticed that she was completely unresponsive to any sound or touch. She appeared not to be breathing and I was sure she died. I had to shake the dog’s bed for 20-30 seconds continuously, and her body and head were just flopping unresponsively, and yell her name for her to finally come to. It was a very traumatic experience for me because the dog appeared to have gone into coma or died in her sleep. After my dog woke up she kept literally falling to the floor on her face and falling asleep. So for the next 4-5 hours I kept waking her up every few minutes to make sure she is responding. And this was the result the LOWEST, HALF dose of what the vet told me to give her! What if I gave her higher dose twice as she ordered? If I actually used the full dosage for our flight, where my dog would have been in a bag out of my sight for long periods of time, and in high altitude, I wouldn’t be able to intervene or get help and again I am sure my dog would have DIED in her sleep. The crazy thing is that my dog is tiny 4.8-5 lb, has well documented heart disease and is 16 year old. Sofia Raldiris ROMAGUERA was UNABLE to analyze these facts enough to prescribe the correct dosage that was safe. She made a grave misjudgment of the dog’s risk factors! When I confronted the doctor she said my dog had a bad reaction - but this is not true. It was a clear overdose and the hospital (via our regular vet) corrected the dosage cutting it down to 10 mg - 20 mg MAXIMUM! This means she overdosed my dog 13 to 17 times!! Our regular vet also say NOT to give that dosage to the dog when she heard, directly highlighting the grave error made by vet Raldiris ROMAGUERA. Attaching here her recipe (which almost killed my dog) and the corrected label with significantly lower dosage! This was the worse experience with any vet in 16 years of owning my dog and I don’t leave this review lightly as I understand it’s the vet’s livelihood but I believe it is important for other pets to be safe and for this vet to seriously get more training or be otherwise screened of how she did this to my pet. P.S. again this review is for this new vet specifically. I am grateful to the practice as a whole during the years prior up to this dangerous encounter with their new hire.
Exceptional service at Condado Veterinary Hospital! My Yorkie Lara became very ill during our stay in Puerto Rico. An early morning call led to immediate care as she needed hospitalization. Dr. Ayxa Rosado Martínez explained the diagnosis and each step of Lara's care- showing compassion for her health as well as my concerns. Additionally, Veterinary technicians Fefa and Eva took great care to communicate additional questions and concerns during Lara's visits. I'm beyond thankful for the quality care and compassion shown during a stressful time from the entire staff. Lara has made a full recovery!
I have been going to Dr Cordova for three years- since I rescued my sato. Excellent Dr and staff! I have been here often due to my dog having several emergencies I have always received excellent service at a fair price. My dog loves the Dr even after treatment for a dog bite. I highly recommend and I’m very grateful.
