(from Google)Beautiful Quarry! Clean trail, well maintained. An excellent swimming hole. Children must be carefully supervised as it drops off deeply very quickly. Great place to view birds and wildlife.
Nice hike to the top of the quarry. The quarry itself gets very crowded in the summer, so go early. The rental equipment (sups) look a bit dated.
Beautiful hiking trail. We went on the hike that overlooked the old quarry. It was a fantastic time. We went early, so there was a fog that hung low into the quarry over the water. Once we reached the top, the fog had cleared and left a beautiful view, and we got to see the quarry in all its glory once we finished the hike. I would recommend this hike to anyone who loves going on hills.
This is my happy place. There is kayak and paddle for rent. On weekends they sell food. No allows alcoholic drinks unless is sell by some of the approved vendors.-During summer water temperature is perfect. There is restrooms, there is signs everywhere to lock your car and do not leave any valuables. I did not have any problems with my stuff the times I left them close to the piers but for my own peace of mind I bought a dry bag-permeable container. If you can’t swim bring some floaters, there is not life guards. Everyone is respectful of other’s space, enjoying themselves. Dog friendly, on the other side of the lake there is picnic area. Some people left their trash behind so bring a garbage bag to take some of the trash to help keeping this place clean-I do-. If you visit do not trash it, we have less and less beautiful free places like this. Parking cost 5 dollars for the day. They close at 8:00 pm, I see most people leaving at 7pm. Get early if you want to find a good parking spot.
I love this place to go swimming at. They have kayak and paddle board rentals, a dock for swimmers to hang out on to sun and even on the busiest days there is always plenty of room to swim. There are also trails to do family hikes. Parking might be an issue though so plan accordingly.
