(from Google)Had to put my 13 yo Dane mix down a month ago now after she was found in the middle of the night in a pool of her own saliva barely breathing. Wanted to give myself some time before writing a review as there were things that bothered me about the whole process that occurred. The vet, Dr. Valad, was wonderful and she appeared reasonable throughout explaining things and outcomes. My main grievance were the vet techs. They need more training. My dog couldn't move when I got there. She was 92 lbs. They didn't want me to help get her out of the car despite me having a blanket already under her to use as a sling where we could slide her out gently, instead, the two young women started to shove my dog out of the car from her backside, and then eventually dragged her out front feet first completely unsupported. They didn't even have the gurney facing the correct direction, having the handles facing the car, so there was a massive gap between the car and the gurney. I was appalled. When I did make the decision to euthanize and they're having you in their comfort room (which was a white walled non-comforting room, very cold feeling, bare bones) they literally had my dog trying to walk into the room trying to support her with a towel around her waist. She had a belly full of blood! She had a ruptured tumor from what they told me. She wasn't able to move when we got there. Why would you have her try walk to the damn comfort room?! Why not gurney her back in there and then lower her off of the gurney? That's what still infuriates me. I'm still mortified watching my dog try to stumble to me as she's literally dying and wasn't breathing well from significant blood loss. And of course it was a cement floor. They literally threw a blanket in there as I was helping to lower her onto the floor. You'd think they'd have the comfort room prepped before bringing you or the animal in there. Throughout the whole time I was there, one of the same techs kept interrupting to have me sign random papers, or explain that my card was going to have an additional fee and that if I used a debit card that wouldn't happen, etc. Which I guess is helpful in the grand scheme but when you've made the decision to put your dog down and the vet literally just walked out of the room to immediately walk in after her shoving a piece of paper in your face wasn't good. And then to keep interrupting for paperwork as you're on the floor with you're dog as they're dying in front of you it was just so inappropriate. There's a small part of me that thinks it was more stressful and problematic to drive an hour to the vet only to have that be my dogs treatment in her final moments versus letting her pass at home. But had I done that I likely wouldn't have forgiven myself either. The cremation process went quickly and I had her remains within a few days. The urn was nice and they had made a paw print in clay for me, so that was appreciated. RIP Lola. Until we see each other again in the afterlife.
Yesterday we brought my brother’s best companion and the sweetest grey boy for emergency care, and the best route forward was sending him across the rainbow bridge. I would like to take a minute to appreciate the compassion of this staff, especially the Dr on duty yesterday for her comforting words and overall kindness while sending our boy to the other side, and Theo for their kindness, making an ink print of our boy’s paw and a clay press of his paw as well. in one of our darkest moments yalls kindness and light shown through our hearts and i could not be more thankful and appreciative of you guys.
I can’t say enough good things about Blue Pearl Nashville! My dog was hospitalized for 48hrs in the ICU and was extremely ill. He is fearful aggressive at the vet and they treated him with so much kindness. They went slow with him and earned his trust to the point he didn’t even need a muzzle! It genuinely brings me to tears with how well they treated him, hand feeding him so he’d eat and tucking him in a blanket at night. They even sent me a photo! On top of that, he finally turned the corner and is now recovering at home. The staff truly cares about each animal, despite their temperament. I wish I could give 10 stars! Thank you Blue Pearl!! -Kelleann and Waylon
Blue pearl is amazing. The staff are excellent and the quality of care is top notch. I have unfortunately had to take my pet in twice once was a legit medical emergency when my dog ate dark chocolate espresso beans. They got her in quickly, were able to induce vomiting so we didn't need surgery. The second was a laceration on her leg due to some glass they communicated that since she was stable there would be some time before she could be seen. They still saw her within two hours and had her all stitched up in 30 minutes. I am so grateful for this amazing pet hospital and the staff!
The staff & doctors were very informative & communicative regarding treatment and price. They took great care of our boy, Copper during his several day stay for digestive issues! They made us feel at ease that he was in good hands and would receive the best care possible and explained everything thoroughly to us❤️🐾🐾 Copper is doing much better and seems to be pretty much back to his normal self again. This is our second visit with 2 different dogs and we were highly impressed with the services provided. We will definitely continue to use BluePearl in the future when/if necessary!
