(from Google)The beach is so dirty and disgusting. Very loud music playing by people. Nowhere to really relax. Too much chaos. And there’s a huge husky that was putting his mouth around other dogs neck that I had to hit twice to get him to stop doing it to mine. Don’t bring your dog here if he asks aggressive like this.
It’s Great… best time is the morning. A lot of free parking spaces…. After fun day at the beach with your dog will be great if you put the Leach on your dog thank you. :) A friendly reminder.
This may be my dog’s favorite place on earth. A huge fenced in beach gives me peace of mind and gives her lots to explore. On-site dog washing stations help keep sand out of your car. Because it is a popular spot, owners can be mixed on how well they attend their dogs so just keep an eye out. Also, sometimes people ignore the MANY signs prohibiting food and decide to have a picnic and get mad when your dog comes sniffing around. In these situations, it’s best to let your dog sniff away, trample their blankets, climb in their laps, and steal as much food as they want…it’s a DOG park. 😉
I haven't been to Montrose Dog Park in years, and what I saw was pleasing. There was plenty of clean sand, and it was spotless. Having cloth walkers at the entrance also helps. I didn't see any dogs misbehaving like the pit bulls from the South Side or floods at the entrance area. On the downside, the City of Chicago LAZ placed expensive parking meters by the dog park, so you need to park on the main street and walk a few steps, and the dog bath machines are overpriced.
This is an excellent place to visit with your dog. There’s plenty of space for them to play in the water. Your dog will likely interact with other dogs, so if you’re uncomfortable with that, it might be best to find a different location for your dog to enjoy.
