(from Google)The chicken & waffles/peach topping was fantastic! The fried okra were delicious. Shrimp & grits were great. The service from the waiter/Bartender needs some work, he didn't take the time to explain any of the food choices, or maybe he just needed to stay as the Bartender. I will go back for this fantastic food again. 😋 Book your reservation ahead of time.
First visit to Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar — we came ready to sample a variety of menu items, and overall it was a solid experience. The atmosphere is charming and rustic, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff was welcoming. Our waitress was especially friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations throughout the meal. Service was quick, and the biscuits with house-made jam were a great start. Highlights included the crispy, juicy fried chicken, flavorful grilled cheese, and well-fried fish. Some dishes missed the mark for us — fries and grits lacked seasoning, the tomato soup was a bit acidic, and the waffles weren’t a standout. The fried green tomato was okay fried crispy oitside but not all the way theough. Portions were generous, though some items came out staggered, which could be an issue for larger tables wanting to eat together. Overall, the food was well prepared and the value felt fair for the quality. Nothing was bad, but nothing was especially memorable enough to make it a must-return spot. Nice atmosphere, attentive service, and good food — just not quite at the top of our list for a repeat visit.
We stopped in Tupelo Honey for breakfast on Valentines Day. We did not have a reservation, but thankfully they were able to seat us on the patio, which was nice! We thought we would be cold but we asked to be seated in the sun and it was actually very comfortable. I also ordered hot tea, which was very tasty. They bring out a little kettle of hot water for you to add to your tea cup/bag, which I loved. Our food was so good. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as my entree and my husband ordered the fried chicken and grits. He also had the rosemary potatoes, which he said were “amazing”! We enjoyed our meals. The restaurant and patio were very clean and calm. Parking was easy to find, even on a “busy-ish” Sunday morning.
Was leaving an event and was hungry. I had been wanting to eat at this restaurant. Decided to go get my food to go. The fried chicken was amazing with roasted potatoes and side salad. The food was fresh and delicious. The hot chicken with ranch sandwich was a delight with french fries. The restaurant is gorgeous and the atmosphere is electric. The cashier was very professional and helpful.
Beautiful atmosphere, slightly upscale but not formal. We went during the Sunday breakfast crowd so the wait was long, but well worth it! The food was FANTASTIC! The original fried chicken is cooked to perfection…so crispy but tender/juicy chicken!! Not dried out at all. Sides are generous and so many great choices! Reasonably priced and big portions!!! The staff is courteous and friendly. Will definitely be returning again and again! Loved everything about this restaurant!!!
