(from Google)I’m writing this review because I am grateful for the training at Good Choice. Mason is 3yrs old. He began his basic obedience Puppy One, then Puppy Two. We did okay with learning the basics, but yet he was still a crazy puppy. I tried every advice offered to me on getting (us) to walk properly. It was a struggle. I then took a class, Mind your Manners. The instructor, Kate Walsh, saw my frustration. She asked if I’d be interested in meeting at my house so she could observe Mason in his environment. (Of course he was not good). She then had us walk my street. We BOTH learned a lot in one hour. From there on, we took a few more private lessons. I was so proud of the bond I was creating with Mason. Since October of 2024, we’ve taken several classes at Good Choice. (Becky, Alissa, Kate, Erin and other instructors that assisted). Mason now has his CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Novice Trick, and Bronze Fit. He is also a Certified Therapy Dog (and he takes that job seriously 😊). Obviously I’m very happy with Good Choice. We will continue more fun classes in the near future. Thank you and don’t hesitate giving them a try. I never thought I’d learn to be the handler I’ve become.
I have taken private lessons and classes at GCDT to help me learn more about my dog, training and recognize how my approach to training my dog can be adjusted to get the results I am hoping for. Becky and Alissa are extremely knowledgeable. Not only do they provide thorough classes, they also follow up after each class with helpful links and resources. I have seen a noticeable difference in my dog’s behavior and attention.
My partner and I adopted our first dog and decided on Good Choice Dog Training for obedience training. What a good decision it was! Alissa and Barb were absolutely wonderful. They are really focused on encouraging your dog to make progress at their own pace, without fear. For people who are new to puppy parenting and need instructors who are patient and kind, I would 10/10 recommend. We also looked at PetSmart but what’s better than supporting local, small businesses?!
Becky knows dogs! I adopted a dog (Jack Russell) who's a little more than I could handle. After only 2 lessons, we are making great headway. Becky has shared so much knowledge that I didn't know or think of that is really beneficial for me and Thumper.
I took Becky's Life Skills class with my 1yr golden retriever. She does a fantastic job managing the room and building up the teams so the dogs can work through distractions that are challenging but not overwhelming. The facility was clean and easy to get to and there was a large variety equipment available during the enrichment portion when we did star puppy class for our girl to explore. The one word of warming is that the room gets very hot during the warmer days (80+ degrees outside temps feel better than being inside). Overall though a great experience!
