(from Google)A delightful and easy walk on a gravel trail across the prairie to the foothills. It’s great for wildlife, and several times we’ve seen more than 40 deer. You can add on extra distance by venturing into Coyote Ridge or doing the spur to the south, or do the out and back to give you about 4 miles. Easy jaunt from town and parking is free and plentiful.
This is a great walk for winter. There’s full sun and nice views off to the east. It doesn’t take too long for the sound of traffic on Taft Hill Road to subside. I often see wildlife here such as coyote, deer, and even a fox. There’s rich bird life, too. The trail surface is crushed stone, so it drains fairly well. No dogs allowed here, please. The bathroom is always clean. 😊
Wonderful easy walk along the Front Range. Great views and very gentle Hill. It is manageable by most everyone. You can make it a short walk or you can add a walk over to Coyote Ridge from this location restrooms at the trailhead
I really like going here for a walk or a jog. Also at certain times you can almost have the trail to yourself.
Beautiful morning at Prairie Ridge. From the parking lot to the foothills took about 25 mins walking. From there, you can go left which is an out and back (1 mile round trip) or right which connects to Coyote Ridge. Trail was in great condition, ample parking, trash cans at trailhead, and a bathroom. No dogs allowed.
