The customer service here is the worst. We bought a dachshund from here a few years ago, and have been in many times before that and since then, so this isn't an isolated incident. Every time I go in here, I go in with the intent to seriously look at the dogs, fish and birds. But every time I walk in, the customer service is trash. I hear the girls talking to people half-way answering their questions and behaving like they hate their job and talking to people. Today, I walked in with my young daughter after weeks of research on birds, specifically Conures, hoping some friendly staff may want to further educate me. When I walked in the store today, there were like 5 girls behind the counter, all of them just stared at us. Never said a word, no greeting, nothing. We wander downstairs to satisfy my daughter's desire to see everything, and she wants to look at a dog. There was a lady that jumped in front of her, blocking the majority of the view and started cleaning the glass. Probably needed to be done, but id think there is a better time than when a customer is looking at said animal. We walk back upstairs to see the birds. No one around to help. After a few minutes of googling my questions, I decide to move on. We then go to a dog "bowl" a lady had open for some other folks. When we get there, obviously wanting to see the dogs outside the bowl, that lady shuts the top and says she is moving to another one, the dachshunds. I told her as she walked away that since she wasnt interested in helping customers we would just go. The prices are also astronomical on some of these animals. There are other pet stores in the area. Give them your business instead. Also, all the dogs that say purebred but not registered are almost certainly not purebred. These dogs are from breeders that probably aren't reputable since you can't meet them and the store is a middleman. Go somewhere else. I've received better help from PetSmart.

This is an excellent place to find your next pet. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the owner and her store. I first walked in heartbroken after losing our beloved pet just three weeks earlier. At the time, I was only looking for a bird or something I thought I wouldn’t become too attached to. Instead, I walked out with a little white furball who brought joy back into our home. A few months later, we experienced a small health concern with our new baby, and Evelyn stepped in immediately to help us without hesitation. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication to both her animals and customers are unmatched. If you’re looking to add a new pet to your home and family, I highly recommend visiting Animal City Pets. You will be hard-pressed to find a more caring and compassionate group of people anywhere else.

went in looking to buy my first snake and enclosure… a worker let me hold a few of them which was nice of her, buttt i wanted to compare the 2 apricot milk snakes with size and temperament, and was told that she only does that with people who were actually looking to buy. sooooo i went to petco and bought one there! :) also all of their enclosures are probably 20% more expensive than everywhere else. 🤡

We love this place! After our sweet baby Chihuahua passed away. We were referred by another pet store to this place. We went in a couple times and looked at the animals that they had and fell in love with a smoky gray and black Pomeranian. The staff there was so knowledgeable, took their time to help explain the benefits of certain foods and choose and toys. This is not our first dog, but due to our circumstance, we wanted to make sure that we did everything correctly. I’ve been in several times since we got our Pomeranian just to ask about food, minerals, and vitamins for him and they helped walk me through everything. The staff is amazing. They take care of their animals so well and make sure that they come from good homes. I absolutely would recommend anyone to do business with animal city.

Me and my Fiancé came in to get our puppy a bone, and fell in love with the Brittany Spaniel that was up for adoption. Their staff was extremely nice and helpful, the whole time we were playing with Birdie we were informed everything and more we would need to know about her. The adoption process was so smooth and easy, and they let us bring our other dog for a playdate before taking Birdie home. She is such a good dog and best friend for our Ralli!! I highly recommend getting or adopting an animal from here.
