(from Google)I love this place! Too many great things to say. I adopted a 9 year old green cheek conure from Bird Hut named Cosmo and it’s one of the best decisions i’ve made. The workers were incredibly kind and answered any questions I had, and even helped us find an amazing new cage for our new baby. I was never treated like I wasn’t welcome despite me being newer to birds other than some experience with chickens, parakeets and pigeons- and I absolutely love how they have you meet with the bird multiple times before adoption! it makes sure that you are the right fit for eachother, and that you’re not just making an impulse purchase. It truly feels like all the employees care about these birds, not just the money. They had even gotten a lot of useful info from his old owner and passed it onto us, which was so appreciated and helped us understand him more. Cosmo is the perfect bird for us, and i’m so glad we decided to visit and fall in love with him. We will definitely be a long term customer at bird hut! not just because of the cute birds, but because you can tell these people care! 💞
If you’re in need of bird supplies, this is your place. Food, toys, accessories are all there and reasonably priced. The also have birds for sale and adoption in addition to permanent residents. So, even if you just want to look, birds enjoy company, go in and say hello! The outside is in need of care, so don’t be fooled by the exterior. It’s in a bit of an odd location and you may question whether or not they are open. They are.
We brought a new cage upgrade for our timneh african grey. The staff is very friendly and patient. My husband and I go in all the time to visit the birds when choosing a cage we were very indecisive and the staff were very kind. Had many interactions with the staff and owner they are all wonderful people that are very knowledgeable. We also bring our flock of 5 to them for all our birds nail trims and they do a wonderful job.
This place is awesome. I come here for everything my macaw needs the staff is always super polite and very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a wide variety of toys and if you would like a certain type of toy, they will upon request order it for you. They have a wide variety of food pellets and their own custom bird feed which I’m a fan of. The only downside that they have is the store is a bit cramped. Each bird does have good size cage tho. They have a lot of second chance, birds, and unlike other reviews, I’ve read on here. They really do care about their birds. The second they notice something is wrong. They go and take them to the avian Medical Center. I’ve even asked my vet there and he confirmed that they take their birds there for checkups, the birds cages are all ways, pretty clean most of their second chance, birds do you have plucking issues although unlike what other people say, this isn’t the store’s fault the second chance birds are given to the store to find a better home as the one that they had before, as you could see obviously it wasn’t great. This isn’t a paid review. This is my genuine opinion. If you’re to take any of these reviews to heart, I’m being nothing but honest oh by the way, the other thing that I kind of dislike about the store is that they are no public restrooms, but being that it’s located in division Portland, that’s really understandable lol so my final verdict is even though I’m not a Parrot expert from what I can tell these guys take absolute amazing care of their birds and will take amazing care of you❤️❤️❤️ Nothing but love from me and my macaw Harley have a blessed day
I've been shopping here for a few years and I've always loved seeing all the different birds while picking up toys and food. I recently decided to adopt a sun conure,Jimin, and she's one of the best decisions I've made! They had me visit her a few times to make sure we were a good fit. I had lost one of my conures a few months prior and I was really nervous about adopting an adult. I wasn't sure if my other sun conure would accept here. The staff at Bird Hut were very comforting and understanding. Jimin didn't want to step up or let anyone touch her. By the time I adopted her, she would step up occasionally (thanks to the staff). It's been a couple months now and she steps up, always wants kisses and scritches and she talks! She gets along great with my other sun conure as well. I don't know what her life was like before Bird Hut, but I know it was good at Bird Hut and I believe that made the transition so much easier. This place is wonderful!
