Love the store however will not be returning for the groomers. I gave very specific details and a picture on how I wanted my dog cut and when I arrived to pick him up he was dang near bald 😩 I’ll attach pictures.

The staff were very friendly when checking out and helpful when asked questions. The main reason why I am giving it 3 is because of how overpriced they are. Went there for a 16 pound purina pro plan bag for my cats and spent $80. I thought dang, I guess prices just went up. Went to the kuykendal location not long after and found the same bag was $50.

I had a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience at this Petco location today. My husband and I went in to purchase a fish and a fish tank. At checkout, the associate (Dakota) refused to sell us a fish, stating that buying a tank and a fish on the same day was “a problem.” When asked to clarify, he said the decision was based on his personal preference and feelings, not on any clearly stated Petco policy. He repeatedly emphasized that he “has the right to refuse service,” including stating that he could refuse service to both my husband and me. The way this was communicated felt unprofessional and disrespectful, and it came across more like a power trip than customer service. My husband explained he has experience with fish care, including personal experience and exposure through a family member who owns a fish business, and that he is familiar with proper care, protocols, and procedures. Despite this, he continued to deny the sale without referencing any official policy. When I directly asked if this was simply his biased personal opinion, he became quiet and noticeably hesitant, and his co worker jumped in to help him by stating pet co does have the right to refuse services if they believe the pet will not be in good care. That’s what should have been said to us from jump. NOT Dakota feelings. What made this situation even more concerning was that while we were in the store, we observed him sell live mice to another customer (an older white gentleman) without issue, while denying service to us. The inconsistency in treatment was uncomfortable and raised serious concerns. Refusing service based on personal discretion not only creates a negative customer experience, but it also prevents Petco from making sales. As a result of this interaction, Petco has lost a loyal customer of over 10 years. I fully respect animal welfare, but decisions should be based on clear company policy—not personal feelings applied inconsistently. I hope management reviews this situation to ensure professionalism, consistency, and fair treatment of all customers

I’ve taken my dog here many times before and he always left so happy, spunky and excited plus looking adorable. This last week I brought him in and the staff off the bat seemed off. I did notice a guy there that I haven’t seen before. I’m not sure who did my dogs groom but it will be a miracle if he lives after his visit there. He is 13 years old and no one has ever told me they had problems in the past with him. He is non stop coughing, red, bruised, skin pink even 4 days later. He was shaved near bald and left with long ears only. He looks dreadful but my bigger concern is trying to figure out if he has been injured in his neck or lungs or if he got kennel cough there. My dog will NEVER return to this facility and I’m just hoping he lives. He is a long hair Malshi. This is his current condition. He is shaking uncontrollably and choking the past 3 days. It’s terrible. This location needs to review the staff. My dog has either been horrifically abused and physically injured or got kennel cough and a painful groom. After being looked at by a medical person they feel there could be neck injury causing the coughing but other opinions think kennel cough. I’m so upset but I feel wrong if I don’t warn to protect other animals. The last times were wonderful for my pet and myself. I’m pretty sure I know which employee this is….
