(from Google)Gorgeous location for a Newlywed portrait photo shoot! I particularly recommend the Coyote Song Trail area for the best and most accessible photo backgrounds; just be aware that there is minimal shade throughout most of the area if you're shooting past noon (so bring some off-camera flash or an assistant with a reflector!) and on weekends you MIGHT have competition from the best areas to take pictures in from other photographers with their bride/groom clients :-p.
Great scenery and fun hike for dogs. Would recommend an early hike before 10am in the summer months.
This trail was really great. I ran it closer to the evening and during a light drizzle. It was fantastic. I recommend going either early in the morning or later in the evening or when it's overcast as there is no shade. Picnic table access at the North lot. Plenty of parking and bathrooms in the north lot. Trails are well maintained. I would be careful with hikes and runs skewed later in the day. Although I didn't see them, I heard plenty of coyotes around 6:30.
I call this a walk to take your mother on. It’s a beautifully scenic, short loop. It’s flat and friendly for moms or people who don’t have the time or stamina to do a mountain hike. Very peaceful. Very beautiful. Can be populated. I prefer to keep my pups at home because of the foot traffic that can accumulate on nice weekends.
Love this trail, have visited twice recently. Only negative is that someone tried breaking into my parked truck (north lot) and broke the key cylinder in the door handle during the short time we were out. Didn't get in, but very annoying it happened in such a public area in the middle of the day.
