(from Google)A bunch of cars in and out of the parking lot and some sitting in the parking lot in their cars when we got there and still sitting there when we got back after over an hour of walking. Made it feel a little weird. The trail itself is not kept up, and at points we had to walk through overgrown grass and weeds which were almost waist high. The trails are not clearly marked, numerous spots where the trail branched off without any indicator of length or route so it’s very easy to end up going the wrong direction or into another trail and getting lost. Parts of the trail are super sandy. Overall didn’t feel safe
Nice trail, Sandy, partially shady. Follow the arrows so you don't get lost. I walked a loop and it took about 20-30 mins. Wear shoes that will not take in sand. No water, creeks or pond, just woods. Nice and quiet.
They have staff that keep this place looking good. Trails are good for walking. Not good for strollers. A couple of spots they had a lot of sand. But overall, beautiful scenery and nice trails.
Part of a true FL nature gem!! Real FL hiking trails. Main trails marked, but if you go far, attend to your trail -- there's lots and the park continues into the lovely Rhodine Scrub Preserve, at the *one* creek crossing, for a longer hike. If you stop in one of the many lovely wild areas, do watch for glass and other old party remnants; this lovely big place is still being rehabbed. The park has looked generally safe to me.
I wanted to walk a trail with my baby for exercise, however it didn’t state that there’s no pavement. So this trail isn’t stroller friendly at all. I just walked around the parking lot once and left. Furthermore, it’s a nice tiny park. Very quiet during the weekdays. The playground is a little small, so I’d suggest only for the little ones. There’s two basketball hoops on the court. And a lake with a dock in the back. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY: y’all need to fix that bridge near the trail before someone falls through and gets hurt.
