The staff here are lifesavers! My dog Lil’Bit was suffering from glaucoma and needed a double eye removal. The team was so kind and professional during such a stressful time. Lil’Bit is recovering beautifully and is much more comfortable now. Huge thanks to Dr. Cichocki for taking such great care of my girl!

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cichocki and his staff. Our dog, Rey, was diagnosed with refractory glaucoma in late 2022 when she was only six years old and had to have her left eye removed in January 2023. We were devastated to learn that her right eye would eventually do the same. Dr. Cichocki was incredibly empathetic and calming, reminding us that dogs who lose their vision adapt remarkably well and still live full, happy lives. With prophylactic eye drops and routine checkups with Dr. Cichocki, we were able to give her right eye over three years before it caught up and had to be removed in February 2026. Getting to work with Dr. Cichocki and the staff over the past 3+ years has truly been a pleasure. This is the only veterinary office that didn’t make Rey shake with fear. Not to mention, it became a joy to trade life updates with him! And he was right! Rey is adapting so well and shows no signs of distress being fully blind now. So we’re following her lead and choosing optimism and resiliency.

I took my dog to this practice for an ongoing eye issue that has been worrying me for almost a year. I had brought it up to my normal vet a couple of times and she told me it was nothing to worry about, so I wanted to get a second, specialized opinion. I am so glad I found Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology and Dr. Cichocki! He very quickly identified the issue and made a diagnosis, saying he hoped to see positive results within a couple of weeks — well, I was surprised at how much her eye improved within just two days with his treatment protocol! I appreciated that he didn't start with the most aggressive regimen possible and said we would only add more medication if the initial medicines didn't show results. I felt this was an honest approach. Some vets I've seen in the past will throw a lot at an issue at once which is tough on the wallet and the pet. Seeing a veterinary specialist is of course not "cheap," but I would say TVO was definitely affordable and well worth the money for the peace of mind knowing my dog was seeing an expert. It never felt like they were just trying to make an extra dollar off us, which I hate to say has been my experience with some general practices in the past. The staff and doctor are all very friendly, and the office is super nice and clean. I hope I don't have too many more pets with eye problems, but if I do, I know where I will be taking them!

This morning my husband and I took our beloved 17 year old Min Pin, Tookie, to meet Dr. Cichocki. Tookie has recently lost his vision due to cataracts and we wanted to see if it would be possible to have cataract removal surgery for him. While we didn’t get the answer our hearts were hoping for, we did get an amazing level of care, compassion, and integrity, along with the gift of knowing with 100% certainty that we were making the correct decision in not proceeding with surgery. Dr. C could have easily seen us and our love for Tookie as a money grab and we would have signed up immediately for surgery. Instead, the doctor performed a thorough examination, asked questions which showed he had good knowledge of Tookie’s history, and then honestly told us that with his age and pre-existing conditions surgery was not a good fit for Tookie. He took the time to answer all of our questions and at no point did we feel rushed or like our situation wasn’t important to Dr. C. We are so impressed with our experience and left feeling like the staff there truly cared. We have seen so many veterinarians over the years who can’t even be bothered and then overcharge for underperforming, so we felt it was important to share our experience with Dr. C. We highly recommend him and his staff!

Dr. C and his team are amazing! If I could give 10 stars I would! They took excellent care of our cat, our sweet angel face, Lou! This surgery has completely changed her life and she is so much happier and no longer in pain. She finally can feel a life without pain! The customer service is top tier and above that they took care of Lou like she was their own! I appreciate that so much. Thank you, Dr. C and team! I’m sending Tiff’s Treats!! 😁
