(from Google)I suspected that my kitty had an urinary infection. It was a Saturday and I frantically searched for a vet that was open on the weekend. Petcare was able to schedule me in within a couple of hours from when I called. All of the staff were incredibly kind from start to finish. Doctor Matheson was very compassionate and thorough. He explained all the possibilities and tests before we proceeded. I did have to leave my kitty at the clinic for the afternoon because they couldn't get a good urine sample at the time. Nurse Jen was wonderful as well. She called me to keep me updated and asked permission to take an x-ray because they suspected possible bladder stones. She explained in detail why they felt this was necessary in a way that I felt comfortable and well informed with agreeing to proceed with the x-ray. When I came back to pick up my kitty, Dr. Matheson and nurse Jen confirmed that she did have an UTI. They took their time explaining her diagnosis and the medication that she would need. They answered all of my questions completely and didn't rush even though it was 15 minutes away from closing time. I would highly recommend Dr. Matheson and his staff to anyone who is looking for a vet or needs urgent care like I did. I am looking forward to having Dr. Matheson as our new vet. The pricing was reasonable. Especially for a weekend and same say appointment. Thank you for everything Dr. Matheson, nurse Jen and all of your staff.
Took my kitty for an extraction and was told they wouldn’t do it without a cleaning as well. We were willing to come back for the cleaning and were denied treatment. We were also denied access to records as the receptionist stated she “can’t give out patient information”., and when our new vet called Pet Care, they couldn’t get through. Because of this, we paid for two blood work ups, and PETCARE never even did the complete work up. We have since found a remarkable vet who serves both the patient and the owners. We feel PETCARE tries to charge for unnecessary services, and the staff was extremely rude and unattentive.. We will no longer return or recommend this clinic. . Update: I have recently communicated with the manager about this. Between texts from my daughter who owns the cat, myself, and the manager, I never did receive all records. I would love a call from the owner. No accountability is being taken, and feel that the manager is more concerned about her Google reviews than owning the clinics part of the problem. Buyer beware.
I have very mixed feelings about this clinic, which is why I’m leaving a balanced review. On the positive side, this doctor once quite literally saved my dog’s life. After spending an entire night at MedVet where she was only given medication, her condition continued to worsen. When I brought her here, the doctor took the time to analyze what was actually happening, drained the infection in her leg, and treated her beyond just prescribing medication. I will always be grateful for that level of medical insight and intervention. However, over time my experience changed significantly. When I asked questions about treatment plans — simply trying to understand what was being done and why — the responses I received often felt defensive rather than collaborative. Instead of being met with reassurance or explanation, I was met with visible frustration and passive comments that made it uncomfortable to continue asking questions. On multiple occasions, I felt dismissed for advocating for my dog. I also requested that a specific vet tech not be involved in an upcoming surgery due to a prior uncomfortable interaction. I was told that was not possible. There was no attempt to accommodate or discuss alternatives, which made it clear that client comfort was not a priority. Most concerning to me was the shift in my dog’s behavior. She never used to show fear at veterinary visits. Since coming here, she developed noticeable teeth chattering and heightened anxiety during appointments. While I cannot speak to what happens behind closed doors, the change in her demeanor was significant and difficult to ignore. In addition, obtaining straightforward documentation for a prescribed medication required repeated follow-up. What should have been a simple confirmation became unnecessarily complicated. There is medical skill here — I have seen that firsthand. But compassion, respectful communication, and a supportive atmosphere matter just as much. Unfortunately, those elements were inconsistent in my experience. I thought with them being open on Sunday and being able to get in for a quick appt would be worth it, but learned otherwise and have changed to a different vet clinic. It’s a night and day difference for both my dog and for me at the new clinic.
The best Best BEST Veterinary I've ever been to! They really care about your animals, and even moreso your wallet. They don't try to push anything, or overcharge. They made me and my pet feel very comfortable. And the doctor was so extremely nice and understanding.
This was my first time coming here as a new client. I live in West Jordan but was recommended this veterinary office by everyone I asked. For the most part the visit went fine. Dr. Emch was very friendly and listened to my concerns as a new pet parent, and gave me some sound advice. One of the nurse’s was also very friendly and personable. So was the second nurse. Up until I said I wasn’t looking to get all the vaccines done on my kitten today. - I did say I wasn’t looking to spend a lot on the vet today. I didn’t say that the reason why was due to the fact that I have a trip coming up and I also didn’t want to traumatize my pet, because he was scared enough- She then lost all friendliness and got an attitude after that. She also acted like she didn’t want to help me at all when I was wanting to ask some questions. When she came back in with the doctor, she had her hipped cocked and had a hand on it. And acted like she didn’t want to be there. I did see her roll her eyes, when I asked the vet some questions. I do plan on coming back. Everyone else was amazing and didn’t have any issues.
