(from Google)I had a great experience overall: the staff was very professional and caring for my dog. The service was also well rounded. My dog had a colitis infection and with the medicine prescribed, he got better in less than 48 hours. Thank you! I highly recommend this vet.
The same way that I burned the horrible service & the "matadero" that is Piñeiro Veterinario 24/7 in Hato Rey ,I have to praise the ladies in Hospital Veterinario San Francisco... (I forgot the rest, it's a really long name 😬😂) The difference was night and day, I could tell from my very first interaction by phone, the receptionist listened to me and didn't cut me off. She noticed the urgency in my voice and accordingly shared what they could do for me and Papi Coco. They didn't tell me everything that they COULDN'T do like other establishments. 🙄 You can tell when the staff loves their job, it's all over every interaction. You can feel their empathy, the caring for me and my limited budget. Understanding what I had just gone through at the other establishment and proving they're better at their job. Thank you for treating Papi Coco like he was theirs, not currency. He's my adoptive furbaby and my only life companion currently. Thank you for being human, and for proving that there's still people that do the right thing, not for a paycheck, not for an incentive or even for a great review. People who provide such legendary service do it because it's the right thing, the ethical and the decent thing to do. I always say, I'm not in the banking business, I'm in the people business. The team at San Francisco.... in Hatillo are in the people as well as the animal business. And I'm so grateful to have found you. Your kindness will take you very far. You have a new exclusive patient and a happy daddy that will not mind one bit the 30 minute drive from home. Thank you for saving my puppy's life, may God multiply your blessings as you have blessed Papi Coco's and my life. 🙏🏼🐶
I’ve been in and out of this hospital with my furbaby for the last two weeks. I went to several vets and no one could give me an answer as to what was going on with my baby. They ran all of the blood work again and it looked like hyperthyroidism, possible pancreatitis and CKD. They couldn’t give me a definitive answer like the other vets, because his bloodwork was coming out ok. They did, however, stabilize him. Which I’m the most grateful for. They were also very understanding of my fear of overnight stays at vets. They originally advised 2-3 overnight stays with iv fluids, since he was not eating or drinking. I was not ok with that so they worked with me and let him do IV fluids until they closed so I could take him home. Then I brought him back the next day for more fluids. I was more comfortable with this game plan because I’ve seen too many unexplained deaths when overnight stays are involved. The dr he had was Dr. Rodriguez. She is wonderful, very caring, very empathetic and understanding. She shows actual emotions and didn’t seem desensitized like many vets, techs and drs in general are. I’m a very needy pet mom. I need to be heard and I need to be able to express all of my concerns without the Dr walking out at the first pause because they’re so busy with other patients. She listened to all of my concerns and she answered all of my questions patiently. Which is hard to do with me (I have ocd and I’m autistic so getting points across can be difficult for me). My only negative experiences were the second day, after bring him home they gave him a pain med that he had a VERY bad reaction to and suffered dysphoria for days. So in the future I’ll be clear about doses and meds, knowing he’s very sensitive. The next issue is that I would love it if I could just stick with the same Dr and techs the whole time. That isn’t always possible because they’re an ER- drs need days off, breaks, etc. However, when I went to pick up my furbaby a little early (1 -2 hrs) from his fluids the next day, I had a horribly rude interaction with a tech. I asked the woman at the front desk if I could speak to his Dr because I wanted to pick him up early. She said yes and asked me to wait, a tech ended up coming out and asking what I needed. I explained that I wanted to pick him up early and she said that I couldn’t because his Dr had gone home for the day and she couldn’t authorize that. Then she sounded confused when I told her he wasn’t staying the night. She ended up needing to call Dr Rodriguez for approval before I could take my baby home. Saying that I really didn’t like that is an understatement. I told her I just wanted to pick up my baby and didn’t understand why that was a problem. She became very rude and said “that’s not a problem but I’m not even your tech so what do you want me to do about it”. I asked to speak to a Dr and she said I couldn’t because this was Dr Rodriguez’s case and no other Dr was allowed to assist me. Not only do I think that’s ridiculous, because if a Dr goes home for the night and the patient is still there what happens if there’s an emergency? Then there was the fact that she said she wasn’t even my tech so why would I expect her to do anything? Umm, ma’am you came to me to speak about the situation, not the other way around. I then asked to speak to his tech and she said fine. Then proceeded to whisper about me to the woman at the front desk. Will I continue to go?? Yes, because the drs I’ve interacted with have been wonderful and the majority of the techs I’ve interacted with have been great as well. The tech with the badly dyed red hair? I’d avoid her
Got to the Vet hospital on a Friday. My chihuahua Coco couldn't walk. Showed the video so they could understand what was going on. Immediately, they reacted and knew. They examined explained every detail to me in words that I would understand. Every assistant and doctor were very nice and gentle with Coco. He was treated with care. Follow-ups are required. And as I said before, got there on Friday and by Sunday he was walking again. He will be under meds for the rest of his life but he also will have me taking care of him in his every needs. Thank you all for your kindness.
I have a had a few emergencies with a senior day and also with our other small younger dog. They do and incredible and thorough job. You will have to wait in line if an emergency, but they are quick to do their best based on the type of emergency. I am so grateful for their support. My Spanish is still in progress, but they speak fluent English which was so helpful when I didn’t have the correct vocabulary with what I was trying to convey. I will always be so thankful for the doctors and vet techs at San Francisco de Asis.
