Atmosphere was pretty cool. But drinks were so pricey dude! Wouldn't recommend based on price.

Great comment from a visiting musician: “this place is great, it’s what Austin Texas was 30 years ago.” The bar is an old venue that was strictly Country western and in the past few years is under new management, drawing in eclectic mix of talent. Could not recommend this place more. We frequent jazz clubs in New Orleans, New York, Chicago, and Paris and candidly the Rose Bowl ranks right up there only it’s so much more friendly, easy to access, and incredibly cost-effective. Very laid-back, you can take food in and enjoy the show. There is Usually no cover, they just pass a bucket. The talent level is fantastic. At the time of this post, they have Jazz every Friday from 5 to 7, a fantastic jazz band on the first Sunday 3 to 5, a world class Cajun band every second Sunday from 3 to 5, a wonderful bluegrass band on the third Sunday from 3 to 5 and sprinkle the rest of the week with all kinds of various types of bands. A band that plays Django is featured once a month. Where else are you going to find something like that? There is pretty much music there seven days a week, frequently with at least two bands a day. We regularly have friends from Europe join us, and this is a go to that they love and imagine is in every community in the US. Bar wise Rosebowl has a very serious bourbon selection and a great beer selection. The prices are very modest. During the cold months, all of the music is inside, but around May through early fall, there is a large tent and a big stage in the parking lot that is nothing short of magical. Huge thumbs up. It’s a mandatory venue to attend!

Attended two shows for the Pygmalion Festival. Venue was a fun and intimate place to see live entertainment and enjoy some great beers on tap! Safe, free, well lit close parking was a bonus. Many food choices nearby.

I love the rose bowl, Ive been a regular for a few years now. The environment is very friendly and they're always hosting fun events. Their the best nightlife spot in Urbana and they are an ally. They hose pride events and a lot of my fellow queers, gays, and thems hang out around here. Only complaint is that their sour selection is not good. :( as an advice sour consumer I wish they carried more and better choices. Maybe some Distilled sours or the dutchess 😋. Anyways if you haven't check out the rosebowl - look on their website to see which events are coming up, the live music and DJ's are great!

I lived in small mountain towns in Colorado for a long time and this is the closest thing I have found East of Denver that matches the quality of that vibe. Having live music every single night of the year, as feasible, is incredible and rare. Tonight, they had three people that had never played together and it was one of the best sets of music I've ever seen. They didn't know each other and it was so fun to watch them figure each other out and when they hit that perfect note it was magic. I feel privileged to have seen it. I recommend grabbing some dinner to-go and support your local artists. You never know what you'll see and I have never had a bad time. TIP! THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WE NEED TO SUPPORT
