We took Raven in to the Sugarland Vet Specialist 24hr🐾🏥ER for vomiting 🤮 (thinking we would come back with nausea meds), & came home w/no dog! Always trust your instincts when you think your pet is sick! It turns out my baby was VERY sick! & it sounds like she has been for a bit. I chalked it up to us being out of town, she’s tired, allergies, it’s in my head. Apparently she has Pancreatitis and a very good chance of having Cushing disease (this is still un-confirmed pending tests but it’s looking like it). This is our first time coming here, and trust me I am Very particular when it comes to my kids. They have been very nice. Explained everything, gave an estimate (which whatever I just want my baby better- but I get it can be difficult financially). I even changed my mind about not doing X-rays, and they were fine with that, which turned out good because they needed an ultrasound instead. Once it was determined she was going to get admitted, I had A Lot of questions & they happily showed me where she would be (in the ICU☹️). They said we could visit- but I don’t want to traumatize my baby by coming & leaving her again. The Vet(day/night shift both) & techs have maintained communication via phone, and I have also called a few times. I can say so far I am very impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness, KINDNESS/CARE that I have seen.

It has taken me a month to find the words to describe my feelings about my sweet Enzo’s passing. The loss has been profound, and putting my emotions into words has been a difficult journey. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Oncology staff at Sugarland Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Novosad, Christina, Celeste, and Irene, your incredible support and veterinary care meant everything to both Enzo and me during this challenging time. I have never experienced another clinic where my pets enjoyed being there. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sugarland Veterinary Clinic to anyone. Their honesty, love, and unwavering support helped me care for my sweet Enzo right up until his final days. I am deeply grateful for everything you did for us.

We had an amazing experience with this veterinary team…. the entire staff is incredible, from the receptionists to the neurology team. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and supportive during a very stressful time. They took excellent care of my French bulldog, Bentley. He was seen by the neurologist, Dr. DuPont, who did a fantastic job explaining everything and making us feel at ease. Bentley was diagnosed with a neck herniated disc (cervical IVDD), and Dr. DuPont is treating him with pain management and strict rest in hopes of avoiding surgery. We’ve been dealing with this since December 22nd, and it has been overwhelming, but thanks to the care and guidance we’ve received, we are very hopeful Bentley will make a full recovery. I’m truly grateful for the compassion and expertise shown to both Bentley and our family. Highly recommend!

Extremely Distressing and Unethical Experience — Do Not Bring Your Pet Here in a Dire Situation We had a terrifying experience at this emergency vet on Saturday with our Pomeranian puppy. He was lethargic, non-responsive, and drooling, so we rushed him in fearing the worst. Before any treatment could be done, we were told we had to pay upfront, which immediately made the entire experience feel like a money grab rather than care focused on our pet’s wellbeing. We paid $1,300 for X-rays and blood work, yet were given no clear explanation for why our puppy was sick. After waiting for hours, the doctor told us our puppy had food/fluid in his lungs, was having trouble breathing, and needed oxygen. We were told he would be suffering without oxygen. At that same time, the doctor also mentioned that his blood work showed low blood sugar. Despite this, the overall message we were given was that our puppy was dying, and we were then asked for an additional $3,000 to keep him overnight. When we explained that we could not afford the $3,000, the doctor told us the best option was to put him down. As a family, we were absolutely devastated and genuinely began considering euthanasia based solely on how serious and hopeless the situation was made to seem. Later, a nurse came in and gave us another option — to take our puppy home. When he was brought out for discharge, he looked completely normal. To make matters worse, we were told we would receive copies of the radiographs/X-rays, but as of now we have not received them. It felt incredibly unethical and cruel to tell a desperate family that their puppy would suffer or die without oxygen, suggest euthanasia, and apply intense financial pressure, only for him to appear fine shortly afterward. It also felt like they were taking advantage of the fact that it was a weekend emergency when families are at their most vulnerable. For a facility that claims to have specialists, the inability — or unwillingness — to clearly explain the root cause of our puppy’s condition is alarming. We spent 4hrs there just to get an unclear diagnosis and $1300 out of our pockets. We nursed him back to health all Sunday, which he looked to be getting better. We then took him to our local vet and he said that our puppy looks normal. The only thing he could spot was that he had a cold/runny nose. Our puppy is now doing well and back to his normal self. Based on our experience, I strongly urge pet owners not to bring their pet here, especially in a dire or emergency situation. Please seek a second opinion if you are able.
