Poor and confusing trail markings on trails behind the nature center. It would seem to be common sense that if the historic Robinson Rock House is what this Nature Center and preserve was founded around, then you would have a decently marked trail from the building to the Rock House remains. But that is definitely not the case you have to take four different trails, all with different markings to get to the site. When I first started out the back of the building there were multiple Trail markers painted on the trees and I thought okay this won't be so bad after all. But that was as far as that went. You quickly came to a circle area with three different signs pointing in various directions and no visible trees with markings down any of the three trailheads you could pick from. It was at this point to my left, before the leftmost trail, then I noticed a sign on the edge of the woods that stated hazardous air quality check oxygen on entry. WTH?! So now I'm wondering if it's even safe to be wandering around in this Nature Center Preserve if there are pockets of non-oxygenated air. What does the sign even mean? I could find no information when attempted to Google it just tons of websites and references saying that Charlotte North Carolina generally has poor air quality due to pollution enterable natural River water quality for the same reason. :-( as an out-of-state visitor this is disconcerting and confusing and due to the poor Trail markings I just gave up. It's a shame when people set things like this up that they don't consider people coming in as tourists and making it as easy and straightforward for them Robinson site according to brochures and information available at the Nature Center building, so why not have a trail route that goes directly there? Not exactly indicative of the level of intelligence by whoever designed it. Inside the Nature Center is brightly colored and cute and with a lot of educational stations for children. This part was pretty impressive shame I couldn't say the same for the trails

Cute little Nature Center with some animals like snakes. Interactive stations to explore for little ones as well as a children corner with building blocks, books, a ready nook and more to explore! There is a souvenir shop at the entrance as well. What I really enjoyed was the fenced playground right next to the center, so you can just walk and explore outside, after the Nature Center. Very clean and well maintained. And all for free!

This is a Really nice park. This plus isolated but at the same time feels very safe. It’s great to be able to get away from the city and have that mountain country feel. There is a mixture of gravel and paved trails. It’s unclear where you can and can’t ride bikes. We only walk jog this trail. It is odd how quickly 2 miles come I’ll while walking this treck. Along the way is ponds and stilling benches etc. I would recommended this for families. Plenty of parking.

We love this place! Awesome hiking but find a route because there are some trials that go a long way. We love the house ruins from old gold miners! There is also a neat tree there for kids to climb! Kids will love this hiking place.

Well, this nature center has everything for everyone. I mean literally everything. If you have kids, they have playgrounds, library, museums etc. if you want to run, you can easily make 10 plus beautiful miles, if you simply want to walk, aw! Gorgeous walking trails. Basketball, disc golf, volleyball, baseball you name it. Nice clean bathrooms and employees at the information center are very professional and friendly.
