(from Google)Went here the other day for there traveling exhibit called “The Art and Science of Arachnids”! It was amazing!! The nature center and trails are normally free but for some of there special events or exhibits there is a fee. This exhibits fee was $10 a person which was well worth it!! There was soo much info displayed to learn about. Lots of fun activities for children. And the best part, tons of REAL arachnids to see!! 🥹 At first it seemed as if most were hiding, then one of the employees went around and fed them all and slowly they started to come out. And once they did it was AMAZING!! Just so mesmerizing to watch these lil creatures do their thing up close. They really are beautiful. There was so much to learn about them. The exhibit was very informative. The employees were also really kind and the man who feed all the arachnids was going around telling everyone facts and trying to help point out certain hidden lil guys! It was great. I really think everyone could benefit from learning more about these spiders, scorpions, etc, and hope that this exhibit helps to grow an appreciation for them. 🖤🕷️ Also want to come back soon to check out the trails. There are tons of them!!!
This place is amazing! A true gem of the city. Parents, bring your kiddos here to experience the wonder of nature. There’s no where else like it in the area! The classes for kids are fun and highly educational. I’m so thankful there is somewhere like this in our community. Thank you, River Legacy!
Stopped in today for something to do with the kids Such a great place! Definitely able to spent 1 to 2 hours just in the nature center then plenty more to do in the park. It's free to visit but they have a more hands on area for $5/adult and $3 ages 3 and up, definitely worth it! donations are accepted as well.
Great place to spend a couple hours walking around and learning about nature. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The kids loved it here! The exhibits in the Lobby are free and so is the nature walk (highly recommend). There is an exhibit room which requires a small fee to enter and explore. They have a small gift shop area too which is very affordable. We want to come back when it's a bit warmer and drier. I bet it's beautiful in the spring!
Been here a few times, first when it was being built, then developed, and now it seems to be a genuinely fine science center full of fun and interactive items suitable for small groups of maybe 10-15 kids, possibly upwards of 25 (in the paid exploration part). The price is absolutely affordable. And the experience is worth it, if only to show the kiddos some of the local wildlife, including some venomous snakes as a cautionary tale. And again, absolutely worth the very affordable price! I sure wish their summer and school year programs didn't fill up so quickly!
