AJ's Dockside Bar and Grill

I don't usually review the same place 2 times. Unless I have a less than good experience. That is not the case this time. I keep a jetski here at the marina now for a few months and am going to be keeping a boat here now as well. Jason in the office has made me feel like family from day one. Huge asset to the marina and customer experience. BUT.. the star of the day is keirsten, bartender/server/shoulder to. Lean on. AJ's dockside is the name of the outdoor bar/restaurant located at the cay cove marina in Clearwater FL. I stopped in for lunch before a quick ride and I didn't wanna leave. Watching keirsten serve the customers was amazing. She actually has fun doing it and it shows. The girl doesn't stop smiling 😁.real fun to be around. If you're looking for good food, drinks and keirsten, AJ's dockside is a must do if your in or passing through Clearwater.. Tell 'em keirsten sent ya!

This was really a great spot to visit. We were from out of town and just looked for the closest bar. We ended up here and looks can be deceiving and I say that in a good way. You park in a boat yard and walk to the bar. They are renovating so the kitchen was not fully stocked but our bartender suggested Grouper tacos and they were amazing. We had a few drinks and just sat there overlooking the water and boats. The staff was great and very attentive and we were just able to relax. Definitely give it a try.

If you’re looking for a relaxed waterfront spot with great vibes, don’t let the entrance fool you! AJ’s Dockside is tucked away inside the Cove Cay community. While it looks like a private condo entry, just drive right up to the gate and let them know you’re heading to AJ’s. They’ll give you a pass, and you’re good to go. The space is cozy and perfectly set up for the Florida heat. They maximized the comfort with plenty of fans and ample shade to keep things cool. There are great seating options with a bar overlooking a charming marina. A clean laid-back, "Old Florida" feel that makes you want to stay a while. The staff was super friendly and incredibly quick to greet us and say goodbye as we left. They nice selection of craft beers Everything we ordered arrived fresh and well-prepared. I had the blackened grouper with fries —perfectly seasoned and delicious. I would definitely go back.

If you're going for just drinks, I'm sure you'd be happy. The picture shows my shrimp tacos and the part that's missing tortilla isn't from eating it, it's from ripping off the tortilla because nothing was inside of it. $16 for 3 (very small) shrimp and very light toppings. The sauce didn't even come with it. My wife had the paella burrito ($20) and it was mainly rice with no protein. Overall we will not buy food here again. We would come back for a drink with friends. Service was very underwhelming. The bartenders never asked how our food was and one wouldn't even look or speak to us.

Tremendous! It was our first time here, but it won’t be our last. The food was sheer sorcery from the first bite to the last! The grilled grouper and Brussel sprouts were amazing, and the lobster bisque was so fresh. I swear it just walked in from the dock.
