PetSmart Grooming

I had an appt this past Thursday (11/20/25) and it was a super frustrating experience. The cat groomer is only there Mon-Thur, so I had to leave work early to get home and take my cat to PetSmart. I recently adopted my cat a few months ago. She's an elder, and I don't know her past experience with grooming. When I get there with my mom, a few minutes before our appt time, I'm told by staff that the cat groomer is on the phone. We ended up waiting at least 15 min, maybe 20 to even see her. The whole time we're waiting, none of the staff, minus the only guy there, seemed to care we were waiting for so long. When the cat groomer starts checking my cat in, she asks for verification that she's had her rabies shot. I didn't have her medical records with me. I take partial responsibility because the guy at the counter did *briefly* mention it when I first made the appt. I told him that she did have her rabies shot and he said "Oh okay," and figured that was the end of it and soon forgot about it. I do wish the email reminder they sent out reminded me to bring proof of vaccination. At best it says "Check if we have her vaccination records" (no button or link to click on), which, to me, is different than "Remember to bring her vaccination records." Anyway, I didn't have it and the cat groomer asked me which vet gave it to her so she can call them. I told her she got it at the animal shelter so she called them up. I thought she was going to try to talk to a real person and ask them if they can verify that my cat had her rabies shot. I still have her ID from when she was in the shelter so I was prepared to give it to her, but she never asked me for info. Instead she told me that she can't find a call option to check for rabies vaccinations (what????) and that the call system was taking her in circles. So I ended up having to drive home, get my cat's vaccination records, then drive back. Oh and the cat groomer leaves at 3pm. When I came back, I saw her on her phone looking bored. Throughout this whole experience, it didn't feel like anyone in this place even cared. By the time she saw my cat, she's been in her kennel for 40-50 minutes so she's more stressed than when we came in. The cat groomer couldn't cut her nails and my cat ended up panting due to stress. It wasn't till later at home I saw that my cat peed all over her kennel. My fault for not bringing the vaccination records, but I feel like they could've done a better job at reminding new customers of this and to emphasis to bring them when making the appt. The only silver lining to all this is I ended up being recommended by a Petco employee, while checking to see if they groom cats, of this nearby place call Pampered Pooch. I took my cat there this morning, no appt required for what I needed (nail trim and sanitary trim) and both me and my cat had a great experience! The cat groomer, Nick, was fantastic with my cat! Somehow he got my cat to let him touch her paws when she doesn't even let me do that. And he was also able to shave her butt fur! We were in and out of there within 10 minutes! And the staff there was so kind and caring, and they were raving about how beautiful my cat is (she would've loved to hear that!). 100% going back to Pampered Pooch and 100% not going back to PetSmart Grooming.

I did not recommend this play to nobody the hot new personal to do the grooming and these people that don't have idea what they doing are you bringing my dogs over there for 20 years believe me I didn't bring my dog to this play no more after they messed up my dog I have to take it to Petco to fix it

Brianna is the only person who I trust to groom my dog, and she does such a great job.

They are very caring for pets and take the time needed to build trust with the pets during the process.

Vanessa the manager is very professional and yet so sweet mynfur babies always wells take care of.
