(from Google)Very cute spot, parking can be tough. The servings were small for the price, but the good was very good. They have a lovely interior and a very nice selection of drinks, perfect for a brunch with friends.
Tia is a small cafeteria located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. My wife found them on Instagram. We arrived on a Wednesday morning around 11am. Parking is valet only so be mindful. There are no reservations, walk-ins only. The main dining area has limited space. When we arrived we were greeted and seated quickly. After that things went downhill. We ordered a cafe latte to begin with while we looked over the menu. Afterwards we ordered a brown butter waffle, a chorizo burrito and a side of French toast and a side of bacon. We waited over 40 min until we had to ask our server, Katherine, what the problem was with the food taking so long. It appears that she either forgot or the kitchen staff forgot. She never came back, we were told she went on break. Other people that arrived after us, were ordering and getting their food before us. When the food came out, it wasn't hot, it was lukewarm, so it was probably just sitting there waiting. We quickly ate and paid for our meal. We tipped but they really didn't deserve a tip. I usually don't like to leave negative reviews but this visit could've been so much better, if only they paid attention to the basic details of the food industry. The servers were probably over worked because they were all over the place. Hopefully the management either hires more staff or helps out because the service was very lacking. The food was decent but nothing to rave about. We will not be coming back. There are better places to eat in Guaynabo and the metro area. This place is over hyped and just another social media trap.
The parking system is a little confusing. The parking manager was a little hostile asking if I had a reservation but I called the restaurant beforehand and was told they don't accept reservation so I was so confused. It took like 5 min to finally be let in to park because he was asking lots of questions and being hesitant to let me in (even though there was PLENTY of parking available). I felt like he just wanted me to leave because the place was full. 20 min later, we were let in to the restaurant. The waitress was kind but she would take so long to acknowledge us and took our coffee order in like 10-15 min after we sat. Later it took an hour for our food to be ready but one of my friend's food wasn't served after 15-20 min that the rest of the group's food was served. Food was good but not worth the price.
One of the best brunch places I've been to. The best Mocha, Chicken & Waffles I've tasted. The lemon meringue pancakes and their Pera Toast were super delicious too. Their service was great and prices too. Definitely will keep coming back! ❤️🙌
Great brunch place. We love the avocado toast and the lemon meringue pancakes. The steak and eggs was great too but a bit salty. The mimosas with fresh juice was the top. We had passion, acerola and guanábana. Even though the place was very busy we had great service. The atmosphere is great to have a nice conversation and funday. Buen provecho!
