Animal Hospital of the Woodlands

I went in for a standard checkup and to renew a prescription for cat food. The building was nice. No real wait as we were the only customers there. The vet quickly checked our cat's heart and teeth and said all was good. It felt lack luster to what we normally see in a checkup. She said all was good. I asked about my cats weight. My cat is very largely structured. He is 19.5lb. She said he is over weight and that he should weigh no more than 14lb. She suggested at least a 28% weight-loss for my cat. 28% is an insane amount of body weight to lose. I told her he doesn't really eat much and is active. We also have 2 other cats in the 8 to 10lb range. She told us that being over weight is 60% genetics. which is simply not true. Also if an animal needs to lose at least 28% body weight, she should of said that unprompted as it would be a huge threat to his health. I can feel his ribs, scapula, and collarbones just fine. His shoulders are wider than his belly. You can see his waist line perfectly fine. He grooms himself and runs around perfectly fine. He just has a lot of thick fur. Pictures for reference. If i tried to diet this cat down to at least 14lb, i believe he would suffer medical issues. We won't be back.

I have brought my dog to Animal Hospital of the Woodlands for many years. The front desk staff is very kind, courteous, and schedules appointments efficiently. The technicians are also amazing and great with my dog. A big shout out to Dr. Kelley, the vet we usually see, who is very gentle and calm when working with my dog who has bad anxiety. Dr. Wilson, who we recently saw, was also amazing and was very gentle and calm with my anxious dog. They are both excellent vets who explain things well if I have questions and seem to really care for my pet’s wellbeing. The vet will give estimates if they recommend your dog might need bloodwork or other services, which is helpful. The vet explains why they recommend the services that they are suggesting and then give you the option of doing the service or not. No pressure to do extra services if you feel they don’t need to be done at that time. If your dog ever needs surgery or a dental cleaning, their surgery center is top notch. Even though my dog doesn’t like going to the vet, I am always pleased with the service and caring attention we receive when we go- whether it be a regular checkup, tech visit, or emergency visit. I highly recommend Animal Hospital of the Woodlands.

My poor kitty was in heart failure when we arrived at TAHTW. Dr. Wilson was amazing in treating our cat and guiding us through a very scary prognosis. I’ve brought my animals here for several years, but this was different. It was very serious and we faced her not surviving. Dr. Wilson is the vet you want your pet to have in this situation. She spent hours working to stabilize her so we could take our kitty to see a cardiology vet at Texas A & M. Dr. Wilson and the staff at TAHTW helped to save our kitty’s life. Dr. Wilson’s expertise, care and compassion was excellent. God bless them all!

Animal Hospital Of The Woodlands is a very great veterinary hospital and they treat my dogs very good and know how to handle the problems that they’ve had in the past. Milo, Minnie P and Mittens

We can’t say thank you enough to Animal Hospital of the Woodlands! Dr. Bulovas was awesome and we absolutely love Andrea. She’s super sweet every time we call or go in. We also love Dr. Kelly! Definitely recommend because they always take care of our babies. ♥️
