(from Google)The trail head is a little walk from the parking area. The parking area is right at the Devil’s Den Park sign. The trail is very rocky and steep. It’s all downhill getting to it. So that means it’s all uphill coming back out.
Do NOT take the trail right in the parking area. The actual trailhead is about 30 yards south of the parking area. The trail is rocky and a little steep in places, but not to bad. It’s definitely worth the hike.
I am nearly 50 years old and 300 pounds. This was my first hike.Easy to follow trail, but I was huffing and puffing on the way back up the trail. If I can do it, so can you!!
We were traveling to Eureka Springs and stopped by here to hike along the way. Do not recommend doing this in August as there is no waterflow, the ticks are out in spades and Chiggers. The path was a little overgrown but this was off season for hiking, it was pretty hot outside. We didn't see anyone on the path, it was a fairly easy hike but very uneven and rocky. Lots of wildlife in the area. The Cave was definitely worth the hike, no flowing water though. This was probably booming moonshine back in it's day. Plan on hiking back when it's cooler and the water is flowing better it would be stunning!
Love this unique place. You can feel it's history. Unfortunately it has been vandalized. Too bad they weren't good artists at the least.. The horrible graffiti takes so much away from this magical place. It is still worth the short hike ! A cave shelter hidden under a waterfall is just as cool as it sounds. When you park don't take the trail in front of the parking area. If you are facing the woods walk to your right and you will find the correct designated trail marked with a flag.
