I’ve had the pleasure of having Dr. Davila twice the last two times I was here in November and now in January. Dr. Davila is professional and personable, I lived in the 79925 area for all my life now due to moving travel out of my way to come here. I have been to East animal hospital and Eastwood animal clinic and the service here is by far the best and the vet clearly cares about his clients and animals. After very bad issues with getting prescriptions and my dogs medication filled even in house with Eastwood animal clinic I came here to McRae animal hospital. The vet sees my dog personally every time, has come up to me in the waiting room and shaken my hand. The establishment overall has exceeded my expectations and I’m glad to have found a vet who prioritizes client relationship over giving people the run around. The office staff is professional and has gone above and beyond even when they ask to call me back and they always do. Thank you Dr. Davila and staff for your time and attention to my dogs needs.

Edited to add: The transition has been positive for my family…we dealt with our dog having an infection last year and once again this month and the doctors and staff took very good care of her as well as our cat earlier this year dealing with urinary issues. Been coming here for over 20 years, have had our share of multiple cats and dogs through the years and always been a positive experience for all of the them. Doctors and staff are always friendly and accommodating, thank you.

This vet was literally the worst one I’ve gone to. Me and my boyfriend were worried about our cat so we first went to a vet I liked but they were closing and they told us to come here. We thought of this 24/7 emergency vet but we called and it was going to be 110 dollars to get her checked. So we went with this one. I really regret and wish we didn’t. We came in first of all frantic because our cat was meowing in pain loud we sign in and everything and the lady says we will have to pay the after hour fee ( we arrived at 6 they close at 8) she said that it started at 6 we looked at the clock and it was 6:03. So our bill already started at 81 dollars. Then they say to wait so we sit and wait for about 40 minutes or more. While our cat is screaming in pain. They finally take us back and took her to the back then we waited more for the doctor. She finally comes in and tells us what’s might be wrong and that it could be lethal and we have to do it fast or our cat might go into septic shock, then says we need to do blood work and/ or a xray and that the nurse would come in and give us a estimate. The nurse comes in with a bill over 400 dollars worth of things for the blood work and the xray and other bs things they charge for like a disposal charge and a after hour fee which was 127 even tho we were there before they closed or anything. We tell her that she said we didn’t need the xray so they took it off and the bill was now about 200 dollars worth. We then wait for the blood work and they come back to say it is that problem and that we would have to take her to the 24/7 vet to go get her surgery right now, they said that THEY put a catheter in so we could take her there without asking us first. The nurse comes in to bring us a estimate on what the other vet would charge which was around 2k, which was outrageous and had a bunch of dumb charges like a after hour fee that was 127 just like this one. They say they are going to let us go to the other vet and we had to wait even longer for some reason. We tell them that we were thinking of taking her to Mexico cause it would be cheaper and they then started saying that they would have to take the catheter out even after we paid the 281 they charged for the blood work and the catheter they didn’t ask us if they could put. We decided that we would take her to Mexico cause the bill was horrible and they didn’t even do anything but charge us money and tell us what was wrong. We took her and although it was what they said was wrong there they actually gave her medicine that seemed to calm her down and not be in so much pain for a fraction of the price. We are still waiting to do the surgery and they told us that only one of her ovaries was messed up and it would be okay to wait till the morning unlike this vet had made us believe. We also unraveled the bandage they had put on her because her paw was swelling up. And the cone they put on her started choking her and she almost passed out. This place is horrible and if you have other options I hope you chose a different place.

I have dealt with this vet for over 25 years and have never experience this. I referred someone because I thought the clinic was honest, caring, and compassionate. My sister’s dog was attacked by two dogs the clinic quoted her $500.00 and took her dog in. Then came back and told it would be $896.00 more. My sister told them she didn’t have the money, they proceeded to say to take him home it will be an additional $70.00. They didn’t offer to put him down for his injuries, nothing! This to me is bad business! The dog died this morning! McRae animal could have handled this situation better. I will not return back and I make sure nobody else does either.

Started coming here after service from Eastwood Animal Clinic started going downhill. I have been very content and pleased with them. The techs are friendly and helpful. And the vet is very informative. I had a question the day after bringing in one of my dogs and the vet actually spoke to new directly on the phone. I've never had a clinic do that here yet. Best of all, they're not doing the curbside service and let you in with your animal (which was a plus because I have a scared dog that doesn't let anyone near him who isn't family). I just had him neutered there today, and the service, plus me being able to bring him in personally, made this much better than it would have been with the curbside stuff. Unfortunately, staff couldn't get the cone on him, he's too scared, but they helped me get him in my car, and that mattered. I love the service. I love thirty minutes away in good traffic when there are closer vets and I don't mind the time to get to good service. I still continue bringing my animals here.
