I’m writing to share a very concerning experience with my 4-lb teacup Chihuahua. My dog was given a distemper vaccine with Leptospirosis added, as well as an oral Bordetella vaccine. Within about 20 minutes of leaving the clinic, her entire face began to swell severely, which was extremely frightening. Despite her very small size, we were sent home immediately after the vaccination with no observation. When I called another veterinarian I regularly use, I was told that due to her weight and age, multiple vaccines should not have been given at once. The Leptospirosis vaccine, in particular, carries a higher risk of reactions in small dogs, and most veterinarians avoid/ REFUSE giving it to dogs under 10 lbs. When I returned to the clinic upset and concerned, my dog required Benadryl and a steroid injection to stop the reaction. I was also surprised that I was asked to pay again for treatment related to a reaction caused by vaccines administered at the clinic. Thankfully, my dog recovered, but this situation was extremely stressful and, in my opinion, entirely avoidable. I believe better communication, informed consent, and post-vaccine monitoring should be provided and enforced, especially for dogs of such small size. I also felt that both the veterinarian and the vet tech seemed unsure when answering my questions. For example, when I asked whether I should leave my dog for monitoring or take her home, they told me they “couldn’t tell me what to do.” I feel that a professional with their level of training should be able to confidently provide guidance in such situations. I hope this review encourages the clinic to take extra precautions with small dogs and to better inform pet owners of potential risks

The young man that assisted Me today was absolutely kind, patient, and displayed great customer service. Via microchip, He helped Me to find a very sweet puppy home. She, the pup, allowed Me to help her. Others had been trying to catch her for two days or so. But, this very much loved family dog is going home today. Thanks much again young Sir for being the hero for this pup today 🕊️👍🏾☺️.

Very unpleasant experience. We had our first well visit scheduled for our 5-month-old kitten with Dr. Barker on 1/14/25 at 4:30 pm. The appointment felt extremely rushed. My concerns were not addressed, and my questions were not answered by the veterinarian. As this was our first visit, I expected more care and attention. When we left the exam room, staff were already mopping and turning off lights. We checked out at 5:06 pm, and the front desk staff was unfriendly and clearly ready to close for the day. The overall atmosphere felt rushed and unwelcoming, which was disappointing. We will not be returning and plan to find another veterinarian to address our kitten’s needs. Side note: the vet tech was kind, patient, and compassionate. She took the time to answer our questions about our kitten’s food intake and weight, which we truly appreciated.

We saw Dr. Drummer today for a wellness check and vaccines for our dog Pearla. The technician and Dr. Drummer were both kind and attentive to Pearla and answered all our questions and concerns. They were patient with Pearla and although she is sometimes skittish she found them to be new friends. When your dog fully trusts the technician or vet to follow them off even after shots you know you found a good practice. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Staff were knowledgeable, approachable, friendly, courteous, and absolutely professional. They made my anxious dog feel right at home! I never in my life saw her so comfortable at an Vet. This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this place if you need pet care.
