(from Google)May 2026 update I’ve been very happy with New Tampa Animal Hospital. I shared my frustrations below and the clinic has helped me understand the situation. I do understand. Dr. Novy and Hannah are amazing. They care about my Miss Charley Lux and provide information to me in a way I understand. I know my fur baby is in good hands with this team and that is the most important thing for me. January 2026 The staff are very friendly and the location is very close for me. I love their app that I use to monitor my kitten's medical status. I can manage their Rx and see test results (after the doctor has released them). I get reminders for upcoming needs which is also nice. I've had a couple experiences that have bumped one star down and feel obligated to share for those shopping around. First, there are way too many people living in the Lutz/Land O Lakes area. There are many vets and they cannot keep up with the amount of customers they have. So I do not believe other vets in the surrounding area would be better. The first experience I questioned was one vet who almost gave an immunization too early. Kudos for catching this as I trust they know the schedule. It was the tech who misinformed the vet. So this is good the Vet caught it, I'm questioning the tech. The second experience has to do with a sick kitten visit. My kitten had diarrhea for a couple weeks and we submitted a stool sample. I am very happy about the sick kitten visit, the doctor is great. We started symptom management, had an X-ray to look for obstruction or foreign body (I found a string in her stool) and that looked good. We waited for the stool results to see if a parasite is causing the issue. The results came back and the vet was out of the office for a few days. I firmly believe the other vets should cover when one is out. Vets should NOT need to be contacted while out of the office (unless they are on call) and yet positive results SHOULD BE COMMUNICATED PROMPTLY. My kittens result was positive for a parasite (that can be transmitted to humans) and to learn the I needed to call the clinic 3 times over 2 days and demand results. To get them, the clinic needed to call the vet who was out of the office. I feel terrible they did this and their policy should change to have the working vet monitor and address positive results. If the results are negative, they should push to the portal for us to see. I can wait until my vet it back in the office to f/u with next steps if the sample is negative. But if they are positive I expect meds to be ordered asap. This is an operational issue the clinic manager needs to address. This is not to be reflected upon the vets who follow management's operational policies. I urge the clinic manager to review this policy and make changes. I like my vet and will continue to provide my business here. She is wonderful with my baby and so are the techs. You can see they truly love animals. Thank you clinical staff for your dedication. Business staff you can do better.
Staff and Dr. Kobell were wonderful with Maggie who is over 100lbs and stubborn as well. I had to drug her to get her in the car and every step at the office took patience to get her to cooperate. Everyone was helpful. Great experience.
My cat was so sick when I brought him at the clinic, that I had already lost hope. I was doing my part in giving him a last chance of being properly diagnosed, and with something that he could recover from. The fact that the doctor did accurately diagnose and save my pet's life says it all. My cat recovered and is happy as much as I am grateful. I was that close to losing him. Big and sincere Thank you!
This is by far the best office I have ever been to in my pets 9 years of life. Everyone, and I mean everyone, from the front desk staff, to the techs, to Dr Novi is absolutely PHENOMENAL. I trust them 10000 percent and they have earned that trust. Thank you, truly 🤍
