(from Google)The Tampa Zoo should be a “must see” on your todo list. All the animals and attractions; it reminds me of a cruise excursion. There is so much to see and do. The rides are included. I enjoyed the interpretive ride experience with the guide explaining each animal in that section. It’s even wheelchair accessible as the truck has a wheelchair lift; nice! I like the manatees, birds, bears, elephants and more. There is so much to see and it’s a good time for kids, big kids, parents and grandparents. I even saw a couple on a date. There is plenty of parking with a fee but it’s all part of the experience. I purchased tickets at the door and there was no wait.
Haven’t been here in years and WOW! This place has really been upgraded thankfully to a lot of generous donors. Very nicely laid out plenty of fans lots of shade and indoor air-conditioning exhibits to make the day fun. Especially enjoyed the manatee Center. A few small rides mostly for kids. Decided to join as a member and get the parking included. Plus you get 10% off of food and souvenirs. This is a super nice zoo no doubt!
Such a beautiful zoo! Small enough to do in 1/2 day which worked for us due to the excessive heat. There are plenty of cooling fans, water mists, and the water ride that soaks you! Loved the exhibits. The animals and grounds seem well taken care of. My favorite animals were the manatees, which I was told are rescued, rehabilitated, and released. The park staff were knowledgeable about the animals and helpful finding different areas. The gift shops have lots of fun items that support the zoo with your purchase. Would definitely go again!
We loved it here! My son is 7 and enjoyed the roller coaster that splashed you. It was 98 degrees when we went and we aren't used to the heat so it was nice that they had water misters and a splash pad as well. They also have a safari ride thats included with your ticket. I love that the animals are mostly rescued or endangered so you know they're in the right spot to be rehabilitated. My son really enjoyed the sting rays! Its a pretty huge place it took us about 2 to 3 hours to walk through if we weren't dying from the heat we would've stayed longer. They also have some fairly priced souvenirs as well! Tip: Bring your own water bottle and a fan that mist! We were also glad we had our wagon and backpack carrier for the kids! Also you save some money buying tickets im advance. We got there at 9:30ish and were gone by 1.
We absolutely loved this zoo! The area is beautifully designed, spacious, and very well maintained. There is a great variety of animals, and it’s clear they are kept in excellent conditions that closely resemble their natural habitats. The park also has great infrastructure — there are plenty of places to rest or grab a bite, areas where you can cool down in the heat, and many clean restrooms throughout the park. Everything is well organized, making it easy and enjoyable to explore. Our child had an amazing time and had so many wonderful experiences, and we, as adults, were just as impressed. It was a truly wonderful experience for all of us!
