La Picadera Bar & Restaurant

I had an excellent experience at La Picadera! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home and ensured that every detail of our visit was perfect. The food was absolutely exquisite. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can tell that great care goes into both the quality and presentation of the meals. The facility is also very nice, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a meal with family and friends. I highly recommend La Picadera to anyone looking for exceptional food, great service, and a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely be coming back!

Service was not good. First time we went they let us know there was a 20 minute wait and put us on the list. 20 mins then go by and we ask if we’ll be seated soon & they let us know they’re closing and not taking anyone…We decide to try again the next day and give a second chance, this time we’re seated but instead we now are waiting over an hour for our food. We let them know if we can just take it to go & they seem bothered by us asking but say yes. They bring us our food and we notice something dripping out of our bag, we ask for a new bag and they only bring us a new dressing (after asking twice lol). Food was subpar and not worth the bad service.

Of course it’s super hot in the summer yet we still sat outside to take in Old San Juan. Great vibes from local musicians on the street coupled with our friendly server made the experience worthwhile. The variety of fried foods, picaderas, were delicious and had great flavor. Highly recommend!

Delicious food and excellent service in a great location. The shrimp mofongo with garlic sauce was superb. The Pernil al Caldera had all the flavors we were looking for!

My husband and I were on a RC cruise and stopped in San Juan this past Wednesday. We toured the old fort and then walked around the beautiful city. We wanted to try some authentic Puerto Rican food. We are so happy that we walked into La Picadera. We were greeted kindly and right away. The waitress came and got our drinks immediately while we looked over the menu. She was so kind to come back and explain some dishes to us. We chose the Pollo al Caldero with rice and red beans. It was absolutely delicious. I’m sorry I do not know the sweet waitresses name but she was beautiful with a slicked back bun. Thank you for a wonderful experience while we visited your area. ~Misty
