(from Google)A must-visit breakfast spot in Old San Juan! Everything about our experience at Kaffe Haus was excellent. The breakfast was phenomenal, the coffee was top-tier, and the passion fruit juice was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Seriously, all of it was great. Outstanding food, great service, and the perfect way to start a day of exploring! The charm of Old San Juan is magical.
I got there basically right as they opened so the service was fast and friendly. The passionfruit mimosa was tasty and the meat lovers omelet was worth the price. Only wish the coffee and potato flavors were stronger. Still recommend!
Well this was a nice little surprise! Very cute stop with great service and the food was very good as well. A little wait but not bad considering the food. Drinks were great and the people were super friendly. Highly recommend!
The food was good, though it may not be something you’d want to plan extra time around. If you’re on a tight schedule, arriving early or reconsidering the timing might help. The service they accommodated our requests to remove bacon from one of item and ambience is great, but the place tends to fill up quickly due to the hype.
Kaffe Haus Old San Juan feels wildly overrated. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the service was consistently disappointing. The staff seemed to vanish more than they worked. We were told we’d have a 20-minute wait, yet we watched multiple parties come in after us and get seated immediately. After a while we asked the host about it, and her response was, “Oh c’mon now,” as if we were the problem. We waited another 15–20 minutes after being seated before a server finally appeared. Once we ordered, he disappeared again, and we only saw him when we flagged him down for the check. The food didn’t make up for the service. The pancakes were dense, like a thick cinnamon-sourdough disc with a spongy texture. The eggs, potatoes, and slice of deli turkey on the pancake platter were completely forgettable. The veggie omelet was dry, barely warm, and just as dull. Even the passion fruit mimosa missed the mark. Overall, the experience was frustrating from start to finish, and the food simply didn’t justify the trouble.
