The view and setting are gorgeous, perhaps that's center of the entire dining experience. Uniqueness: 8 Value: 8 Experience: 9

During my stay, I got the lobster roll with fries to go and it was delicious - light and fresh. I really enjoyed it. The continental breakfast was satisfying. I had pancakes and the chicken sausage.

Red Restaurant, I hope you can review my experience and make sure this doesn't happen to any of your future guests. I'm confident most who go to your restaurant do so for the location and many times like me for celebrations. Do not mess up memories for your guests. The highlight of the entire visit was your wait staff. They did what they could to make us feel special otherwise I certainly would have called in the mgr while still on site. In my reservations I asked for a table with a view and told them it is for a bday celebration. Arrived a little before our reservation time of noon and they asked if we want to sit in patio or inside. Then told us they already set up table for us outside. Fine, it was a nice day and the patio was shaded. Lots of open tables.... but the table we were set up for was in the far left side of the patio near these tall bushes w no view. Lucky there was a seat with a sliver of a side view for my mom. The rest of us were behind the bushes. I was bitten a dozen times behind the arm by mosquitoes within 15 mins as I sat closest to the bushes. My husband next to me was bitten in the forearm and hand. Another guest bitten on the hand. And i had to shoe away nats that were going after our food. Food was good except for the Wagu burger my son ordered medium came out with the center still rare, but our waiter Dante took care of it and made him a new one, it came out medium well completely brown in the middle but that's better than rare. The California citrus salad we had 2 orders at our table, one had mandarin oranges on the side, the other on the top and neither one had cherry tomatoes like I saw in pictures posted by several other guests. It looked really bland. The side salad for the burger had cherry tomatoes so it isn't bc they ran out of tomatoes. Then before we could make it to dessert the sun started coming to our table. The umbrellas were placed on the side where the tall bushes are and didn't help to block the sun. We moved one umbrella ourselves with some difficulty and asked the waitress to move the other one for us but still as the sun shifted minute by minute we kept having to shift our seats to avoid being in the direct sun/ heat. We were the only table seated in that area and all the other guests were in the shade area of the patio. We were not walk ins, i had a reservation. And it wasn't over crowded when we arrived. Only couple of tables were occupied.a I was very disappointed in our seating assignment. And how there was inconsistency in the food. On the positive side, the nachos, calamari, and Miso fish was very good. Not sure if it stands out enough to negate my personal experience on this visit as it was disappointing and uncomfortable despite the good food bc I can get good food many other places. I came to Red's bc of the location and view and I didn't get to enjoy any of it during my meal. Neither did the other 5 guests at my table. And i would have liked my mom to have more of a center view to really feel like she was on the top of the hill at this lovely location. Finally I figure before we leave at least we can walk to where the view is and take a picture. There is a curved pathway that apparently the golf carts drive thru to get to the course. And it goes right in front where the nice view is. There is a paved walkway in front of the center of the view so I walked across the golf cart path to the small walkway preparing to take a picture then I'm told there is the first tee off hole right there. Goodness why would you arrange the resort in such a way. These are no signs, no instructions saying you can't walk there for pictures and there is a walkway. So all in all a negative experience. I never got any pictures with our group with the backdrop I had hope to make part of my memories book. And my table of 7 spent just under $500 for this experience.

The drive up was gorgeous and the view of the surroundings is so beautiful. Feels very serene and relaxing for a nice mid-day retreat if you go at lunch. Service: Sweet, friendly, and patient. They has a good level of professionalism without being too stuffy. Food: California Citrus Salad - Delicious and quite possibly my fave. It's very refreshing with the mandarins. The candied pecans add a hint of sweetness and an undertone from the natural creaminess of the nut. The lemon poppyseed dressing is a lil sweet as well and adds a nice tang. Miso Black Cod - My mom loved the sautéed mushrooms and the bokchoy! The fish was nice and juicy, not dry, but she said it was lacking a little in flavor. Ravioli - The tomato sauce was very yummy! Well balanced sweetness, a little creamy, and tomato tang. The ravioli was filling and I liked the other added veggies with the ravioli. Vanilla Creme Brûlée - Sooo creamy and tasty. The custard wasn't overly sweet and perfect. My only critique was that the sugar top was rather thick but that might be good for some. Also, the leaves of the strawberry got stuck and I don't really like eating the leaves. Otherwise, a great dessert. I'd love to come back here for a more special occasion! It's a wonderful place with great vibes.

The bar here is an absolute charm. Great cocktails, delicious food and a nice pool table that kept us entertained for hours, all while watching the Rosebowl. Service from each server delivered the same positive energy across the board and when it came to our cocktails, flavor was consistent each time we ordered another. I loved the ease of not only charging to my room but also having liquor and food separated on the bill was not an issue.
