I can’t express how grateful I am to have found this fear free vet for our dog. Despite being a total sweetie, our pit bull Sophie’s history with the vet was rough due to her first vet forcibly restraining her and using a “by any means necessary” approach. This traumatized Sophie and caused my wife and I to be in a state of dread for the entire week leading up to her at home vet appointments by a mobile vet that went bankrupt and didn’t tell anyone. Sophie’s BS detector would go off at the sight of anything resembling a needle and she would not tolerate any pokes. A couple months ago we found a bump on Sophie that needed to be checked out, and she was due for vaccines. We were so stressed about having to start from square one with a new vet again, and thankfully we found Critter Care using a Fear Free Certified locator. Dr. Liza and Becca are so compassionate and kind to Sophie. They use clever tricks and strategies to distract her from scary needles. If she shows any signs of fear they stop what they’re doing and re-strategize. They also use topical numbing which no other vet we’d been to before had used. They were able to get her up-to-date with her shots and bloodwork. They also discovered that the bump was a mast cell tumor, and were able to get us on the schedule for it to be removed very quickly. Sophie is now recovered and doing very well! After the most invasive procedure of her life, Sophie still loves returning back to this office as she just associates it with treats and pets and love. This veterinarian has made a true impact on me, my wife, and Sophie’s lives and removed a tremendous amount of stress from something we all previously dreaded. Thank you Critter Care.

Critter Care is a 90 minute drive for me, but I''m so impressed with the staff and Dr. Pfaff that I would gladly make the trip any time to receive care for my animals. I have a challenging German Shepherd who does not do well at the vet, and they made the experience so wonderful for both him and me.

I’ve been bringing our bunnies, piggies, and dog to Dr Pfaff for since 2018. We’ve received amazing care from her and all the staff. They’re so good with my animals and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
